Hey everyone, im in need of a cheap crash because I dont have any money :(
I have about £30, I can buy a 16" Solar, 16" Paiste 101, 14" Stagg SH or a 14" Wuhan Trad.
People will tell me to save up but out of those what would you say? I alrwady have a 18" Z Custom Rock Crash btw.
Cheers

Save up. Look into istanbul. Pro cymbals for intermediate prices.
buying cheap will mean buying twice
Might as well get the 101 if you must. You dont want a 14", it will sound too weak compared to the 18" you have.

out of those, the wuhan. definitely. They have a one year no questions asked warranty, and theyre sweet. Istanbul is also pretty good as maniac said.

nah dont buy cracked cymbals...unless you cut them down
like someone did with two broken A customs and made them hi hats. I forgot who tho
Pretty sure that was Futuro.
If you really haven't got more, look for Wuhan or Stagg, they are your best bet. Make sure you listen to them before you buy.

go to your local bank, open a savings account (you might need a 'rent to do that with if you're underage), make sure you don't get an ATM account with it (savings ONLY! want money from the account, use a deposit slip!) and then every friday go to the bank and deposit whatever's in your wallet.
then get a job.
Wiseness + good cymbals >>>>>muchgreaterthan>>>>> immediacy + sh¡t

Just don't go with the Solar, that's all I'll say.
I have an old Solar that my friend gave me. I don't use it... but it's really, really, really, really trashy. It's terrible, so I get it out when I want to make people laugh... haha.

Stay the fvck away from Solars. I'd say out of the ones you said, the Paiste.

stagg arent that bad. if you go with stagg though, try the cymbals out yourself.
consistency isnt their thing; neither is it wuhans.

That's not true. I have a 14" B8 Pro thin crash and an 18" AAX Studio Crash, and the 18" doesn't overpower the 14", the 14" has much less sustain though.
Those are much more similar then what he is looking at though.

I was very impressed with Stagg when I first saw them a few days ago in Toronto. Their 10" DH series splash was awesome, and for something like 38$, you can't go wrong. I'm sure their crashes are awesome too.

Yes...I had solars, nd my school has a Solar set (doesnt get used, because of the underated brilliant Sabian Pro Set) , but they have NO projection what so ever, imagine hitting a foil trash can lid
.......it would sound better than a solar crash cymbal

Its on auction, im currently winning with a bid of 99p. The crack is about 7cm long he says but I usually only play on the bell so it shouldnt matter too much I dont think.

he has an 18" z custom rock crash, any 14" crash would be overpowered by that
