"Japcore" is used to refer to a series of fast-paced japanese punk/hardcore bands.
Most "Japcore" artists include elements of crust punk, anarcho punk, & d-beat in their songs, and focus on issues of global warming, disarming nuclear weapons, and corruption caused by capitalism.
ITT talk about your favorite japanese punk bands
japanese albums to check out if you haven't already:
Gauze - **** Heads
GISM - Detestation
**** On The Beach - Fastcore On The Beach
Disclose - A Mass Of Raw Sound Assault 7''

No way. American Hardcore falls way short in comparison to Japanese hardcore. We can all agree that Finnish/Swedish hardcore just blows both away though. :thumb:

USHC is the best. The Japs and Swedes have truly mastered the epic sound, but I still prefer the raw style of old American stuff.

I don't know, I like the raw-sounding foreign Hardcore so much more. Kaaos, Appendix, Destrucktions... just so great. I think the best USHC is the youth-crew HC like 7 Seconds or DYS.

Swedish - Anti-Cimex, Avskum, Mob 47, Wolfbrigade, Victims, and DEFINATELY check out Totalitar -- my personal favorite Swedish band, probably favorite hardcore band overall.
Finnish - Destrucktions, Kansan Uutiset, Terveet Kadet, or my favorite Kaaos.

I have this one hour+ song by Corrupted called El Mundo Frio. I haven't listened to it all the way through but it seems cool. I assumed they were Mexican/South American since all of their album/song titles seem to be in Spanish, but I guess they are Japanese. Weird.

Itīs true that the song is titled Anti Fag, but the content and lyrics is not about fags or anti-homosexuals in any way. Provocating- Yes (that was the basic idea with the title in those days in the south of Sweden), anti-homosexual- No
Btw, I missed out that there was 2 different threads....

I guess you mean the cassette "Anti Fag Music" ? (itīs not a compilation).
If I see the text (verse- not chorus), without any knowledge, I would guess itīs about...the whole porn-industry or something, even though most of it are rubbish. Nothing in the (verse)lyrics indicating that it should be against homosexuals.
The song it self was pretty much made in 10 minutes, in the studio, when the band discovered they had that time left. They had most of the chords but not any lyrics. I would say, stupid or not, the way the lyrics turned out is a combination of -beeing tired after a long day in the studio -an unpleasant coincidence at that time -a certain amount of bizarr humour and -a will to provoke. (They succeed in the last point...)
It should also be taken into acount that it was different times back then. But-Itīs amazing...what a bunch of 17 year old punx did 23 years ago in Sweden still upsets people. But of course, there has never been a proper explanation I guess (the cigarette-thing was just one member making a joke with the interviewer) / Cheers
