I was inspired, by myself, to make a thread about Japanese punk/hardcore. And this is it. So, talk about it.

Bastard - Tragedy bit their style from this band. Cop what you can, they rule. MISERYYYYYYYYYY

Gauze - Classic, get Equalizing Distort.

GISM - Legendary band, stories about Sakevi are welcome in this thread, not that most of you even know who that is. Get Detestation.

Nightmare - Awesome band, hella intense. Get Give Notice of Nightmare.

If you can find it, get the comp Starving Dog Bites Master. It's so ****ing good. Nightmare, Death Side, Kruck, and I think one or two more. If someone has this, please send it to me, I lost the mp3s when I got a new computer.

Hi-Standard.

No, really, Japanese punk is really good. Not only that, but punk bands from Asia in general. I talked to some kid on Soulseek, who was in a Korean punk band that toured with The Geeks, and he had me listen to some of the Korean/Chinese bands that he knew about. And damn, a lot of them were very good.

Dude, they rule for the sheer fact that they're probably one of the most energetic bands around right now. That, and the intro they did at TIFY Fest '05.

Aside from that, Jap Hardcore is awesome.

Seeing Warhead and Forward at Chaos this year was amazing.

Amen. They played at the venue I used to volunteer for earlier this year and it was one of the most fun times I've had at a show this year. I'd never even heard them before. We took them to get donuts afterwards too, nicest guys in the world.

EDIT: That intro does rule. They did the same one when I saw them.
