Witnesses told the Associated Press (AP) news agency the crash caused a loud noise, and burning and falling debris was seen.

LOL, orly?

What else happens when 100mph suddenly stops in mid-air?

Wow Lidle really missed the plate on that one.

Seriously though, it's too bad. Thankfully it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Nope. The building is on 71st off the East River. I work about 30 blocks south, and mayhaps 6 blocks east.

They closed off 3rd as well as Lex to get emergency vehicles up to the scene, but aside from that, it really has no bearing at all.

Quite frankly if not for 9/11 this wouldn't even be posted in here. It just annoys me to see useless turds from places no one cares about making stupid jokes with no warning or banning. In fact I would guess it was posted simply to mock it.

Thought that was what the Pit was for. But hey. Whatever.

Not really...

Just out of curiosity, but isn't it illegal to fly private jets over cities or something?

I think it's kind of stupid that people find it okay to joke about death and destruction in the saftey of an internet forum think about it is that how you'd act in real life. I remember when Erwin died I got sick to my stomach so many people were being idiots.

I think we have all had experiences where close friends or relatives of ours have died, so we know what it is like. But there are too many people in the world to care about everyone. Otherwise we would never get anything done.

When someone says that when you're not with us you're against us, that's not freedom, that's fascism.

Why does being famous make it any more mornful?

More LESS important people than a famous BB pitcher die everyday in much more tragic events than a romp in the clouds in your very own airplane, geesh…

It is in NY. Supposedly he was flying up and down the Hudson and East Rivers, which is allowed under strict altitude regulations. Why he was over Manhatten before crashing is unknown.

That's because when 3000 Americans or 70 Brits die in a terrorist attack, everyone sobs their little hearts out, but no one flicks an eyelid when it comes to 5000 Indians or 556,000 Iraqis (that's the latest figure supposedly, according to a new study, but I only saw the headline, feel free to read it as 200,000) dying in some catastrophic event. That's why I don't feel bad making jokes. 3000 American lives matter to me as much as 3000 Iraqi lives.
