Allright, I know you guys on here are reluctant to helpfully reply to these kinds of threads. I am trying to find more bands along the lines of Chiodos, Saosin and Versus The Mirror. I like the keyboards, clean vocals/screams. Any recomendations would be appriciated.

Well that's where they get talked about, though they fit best in pop rock if you think about it. Not hardcore or emo.

has long has there been a pop rock forum?

whiteminority

Not terribly long.
ya. haha.
That would absolutely interesting as hell to see the look on someones face as they progressed from something on say A-Types to something on the Kaospilot LP.

srt-4

that would be great. especially if you acted like they were crazy for not thinking they sounded similar.

LOL @ VERSUS THE MIRROR

Worst vocals ever.

Yeah, you gotta learn what hardcore and emo are, son.

Emo started with The Get Up Kids and Dashboard Confessional. Then, bands like Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance took a new spin on what emo was and made it way better. Aiden is the current example of emo.

Hardcore was made as a retaliation to emo with lots of screaming. Underoath is the first hardcore band.

ROFL NIKO THAT WAS PRICELESS

But seriously, no sarcasm here: read the definitions thread. Ask for bands like this in pop-punk because they actually listen to that stuff.

Anarcho punk, jeez havn't you heard American Idiot? Good Charlotte are heatbreaking emo I really can't seem to listen to them without crying and adding another scar to this angst ridden heart.

The Academy Is... is glam-emo, sort of a mixture of fashionXcore with true emotional, heartfelt lyrics and vocals.

Don't forget artcore, either!

Would you consider xWARHOLx artcore? Definitely on their first CD, but they kind of moved into more pop-art stuff recently.
