Hello everyone,
I was just wondering, how most people record songs?
Do you usually record a song by pieces, for instance, record the bridge then maybe later record the chorus.
or
Do you just record the song from beginning to end without stopping at all?
I usually record by pieces but i found it kinda hard to perfectly match the pieces together?
Anyways thanks in advance.

I try to record a whole song all at once. If you can do that perfectly you will have a very good recording and a very good performance later.
Also, if I have to stop playing, I will cut it off at a certain spot and then play the previous note with the old note. It helps seam it together.

hmmm, once I get my studio and start recording bands, I will, instead of recording bits and pieces of songs, record the whole thing through with the rhythm section and do overdubs on top of that.
I'd much rather have to not 'pro-tool' things as much as I can.

It depends on the situation.
Ideally, I like a group to be well-rehearsed, and then I'll do a multi-track recording of everyone all at once, so all I need to do is mix after we capture everything.
Typically, I'll end up recording 1-2 people playing 2-5 parts of a song, so I'll need to record as many parts of the track at a time that I can, and then overdub the next parts onto subsequent tracks.
