The 8600 single braced series is supposed to be very good, and it's lightweight to boot, although I've heard that the stands don't reach fantastically high, which may not worry you. If you're a light-hitter, I'd go for the 8600.

i'd get the 5600 just because the flat bases' always look way to flimsy for me, but you might think different

or you could get a tama roadpro, $60 on MF right now:chug:

Dixon Invader series. I have one that is currently holding a 13" Tom, 22" K Heavy Ride and a 16" HHX Power crash. It can easily do the job.

I actually like the classy looks of the flat base.....

Its hard to decide between the two

Mix it up, the positioning will be so easy with the flat-bases hiding in under the legs.

No matter what, skip the 5600. Go for 6000 series.

If you buy all flat base stands, you won't be able to cross the legs like the regular stands. If you're getting just one like that, go for it.

If its for your vintage kit, ..then flat base all the way.

i like how they have the vintage look on there. it just reminds me of how flimsey they were..

i also dont like how those arent double braced. id look into some of yamaha, sonor, or tamas high end hardware.

Are these for the vintage yammies?

If so, flatbase.

But, because 6000 is heavier, you can use cymbal arms and stuff, so you can have 1 heavy stand and an arm, or 2 medium stands.
