Anyone here have any experience with Tune Basses? I went to Sam Ash today looking for a BTB 456, and was out of luck. A salesman showed me a Tune sixer. It played okay, but I don't know anything about them.

my friend has one, i played it. It sucked off the rack, but once set up plays very nicely. The neck was very fast, and the pickups (p's) gave a very nice sound.

To those who have played it, worth $700? I could get the BTB456 for the same price, which is better in your opinion?

I'd go with the BTB, just for the sheer fact that I am more comfortable in the durability and gigging-ability (word?) of an ibanez over a tune.

The hard part is going to be finding a BTB to try out.

Have you looked at a SR506 for a six string?

I have played them, I don't love the necks.

Yeah, my neck feels a bit sticky towards the first fret, but I think that is from other kids playing it at the store. I am going to clean it sometime soon, and see if it helps. It really isn't noticeable, but I can tell.
Otherwise, I have no complaints with the bass.

It's not that. The size feels weird to me. The Tune felt better in terms of neck shape.

Dude, go to GC, they've got a used SR506 there. Tell me if you do and I'll come along and have a little Indy gathering.
And as far as Tune goes, pretty solid basses when they were handbuilt customs or whatever, but the ones at Sam Ash always feel cheap.

Meh. To each their own. :)
