my local music store is going outta buisness and i got some deals on some batters/resos (i'm gonna use'em as resos for now and then batters when i wear out my others)

i got a 16" clear CS ($4.07)
12" clear Weatherking ($7.05)
13" Ambassador ($12.10)

and the cool thing about the 13" is i can use it as a reso/batter for my snare (picollo obviously).

I figure these are better then the stock crap i have

i bought ec2's, to confirm my decision, instead of tuning up my drums with the heads, im going to ask people if i made a good decision for no reason, even though i already bought the heads.

More then $10 for heads is kidna pricey... let alone an out of business sale. Good heads though TS.

Hahaha I laugh when people buy musical instruments without hearing them. Gotta be one of the most retarded type of blind buys there can be. Snare drums are the most personal thing for a drummer. It's what defines the most about your sound, to blindly decided what your sound will be is....

Almost reguardless of how it will sound, it will sound good to them because they've already convinced themselves it will and the fact they already paid for it. Wich is why you see so many people defending purcahses of crummy products, few want to admit they bought crap.

jos.. i really just needed a snare, pretty quick, I didn't have time to go out and pick through each one, I just knew that this one was #1 on my list so I went for it. and if it does sound like crap, i will admit it.

How was it #1 on your list..? Looks?

I love the justifications for people buying musical instruments without ever hearing them...

no it wasn't looks, I don't care about looks, I have heard great things about them, that is why it was #1 on my list

Josiah is on the rampage.

He's got a good point though. Playing things before you buy them is important, but unfortunately it's becoming more and more dificult. Many retail stores mostly stock low end crap, and I find myself making pilgramages just to wander into a good store for a few hours to play something quality.

Ocasionally I will buy something on ebay,..but I always admit to myself it's a risk and will only do so if I'm getting a great deal. (the bay is risky enough as it is....) even then I usually have a good idea of what the item sounds like, it may have been a few years since I've played one, but if I liked it it will stay in my memory.

Remember, every purchase is a vote. Stop voting for crap and maybe they'll stop selling it.
