So our band is having some troubles with our guitarist and drummer. So we found some replacements and we are going to kick them out. But we are having a little trouble with that. They are our friends but its not going to work out with them because lack of practice and always having it their way. They are brothers so they always fight a lot. We already talked to them about kicking them out before and the drummer always says no its my band and we always respond by saying its everyones but that doesn't work. And they believe that they should get the songs and not us. But I think we should because 3 of us are moving on and the 2 of them aren't. I made all the songs from the beginning and the other guitarist just changed them around a bit. We've put more work into this band than they have but they don't realize that. So what is a way to get all of the songs? Say majority of the band? Or just use them and who cares what they think?
1 song is on there out of the 4 that we have.

I think some people take this "Who wrote the song and who has the rights to them" just a little too seriously. Your profile says you're 15. If you wrote the songs originally and you kick those guys out. Just keep the songs. They aren't going to take you to court over it, especially if they know (whether they admit it or not) that you wrote the songs origanally. Chances are in the next few years of your music career you will just end up tossing the songs anyway.

yea it shouldnt be that much of a problem, if it is then you wrote them, so its yours.

I don't think that trash on your myspace counts as a song worth keeping....give it a year and that kinda trendy music will be gone and you'll have forgotten all about it

I don't listen to Despised Icon that much...that is not what our music is based on anyway. Well thanks for the help "the only singer" your just about the only one who helped me out...I wasn't asking you guys to comment on the music and say how terrible it is because people have different opinions about music. Some people like rap, others metal...there are going to be a lot of bands you don't like in your life...and no I don't love the song and this is one of our band's 1st originals so give it a break will ya?
