Your dad is going to buy you a DW kit for no reason?

Anyways there real nice kits. I've only ever played One DW kit.
They compare to any other high end kit. Starclassics, Orions, Masters.
Except that DW doesn't have a beginner line..

Dw doesnt have lower end kits to my knowledge. Unless you are talking about pacific?

To be honest, you shouldn't have someone pay that kind of money for a kit you have not played.

Yeah Futuro has a point.

But you'd probably like it DW's are a very good, and are considered "pro-level." They are a very respected company.

You didn't get my point at all.
If you had a chance to play on every pro level kit there is, there is a big chance you might not choose the DW.
Why spend that much money on a product you clearly know nothing about?

But if you do get the DW and you love it, more power to you.

yeah i know the driving ecnomically and ****. The fact that i have at least 1 hockey game 100 miles away a weekend doesn't help matters much. all my money goes into the bank, or the tank, tyvm. Yeah, u r right, I do have no social life. I just need to start working another job.

That's because you're putting your money into another hobby: hockey. 100 miles away for a game every weekend is ridiculous. I wouldn't drive that far for a hockey game unless I was getting compensated for gas or getting paid to play.

Either start carpooling or quit hockey. And FFS, learn some money management skills.

well, problem with that, no one else lives near enough to me to pick me up, I actually usually have to pick 1 of the guys up on the way there. Quiting won't happen, I love it and I am Probably the best goalie in my league. I don't mind waiting to be able to have nice things, it will just take a little longer, no big deal.

Well, It might be for the better.

Look at it this way, If you are going to buy a candle for your house, you would smell every candle on display, to see which one you like the best, right?

Thats only a 3$ candle, I think you should definetly do the same with a 3000$ drum kit!

I don't mean smell the drum kit. :p Gotta play em all before you make a big financial decision like that.

Dw is considered one of the top brands, and are very well known for the "DW" sound. I guess to give you some excitement. But expect a PDP cause DW are expensive! PDP is good intermediate sets as well.

About money management...

My friends are all amazed at how I can spend my money so slowly.

Just the other day we were at my house talking about it, and no more than 5 minutes later, the friend who was talking about it looks through the classifieds to find a "nicer car". He just bought his car 4 months ago, and still hasn't paid it off, but my other friends bought nicer cars since then, so he's about to take out a $12,000 loan to get a car that's worse on gas than his, so that he can have a "nicer car" than them.

I laughed. Real hard.

His reason for taking out a $12,000 loan? "I can easily make $1,000 payments a month!!!"

"Yeah, $12,000 is stil $12,000, no matter how fast you pay it off..."

"... ?"

Money management rules.

I can't hold onto money. Mainly because I love to spend it on folks. But I'm trying to break that habit.

I'm looking @ Matter's kit and I really like it, but look at all the rack gear... wow. I thought I was set with a Firepod, a laptop, and 6 good mics lol.

Very nice set up by the way! I just don't have the space to set up my recording equipment by my kit like that. Must be nice!
