So I've decided I'm going to sell this. I'm low on money and need money for my car. So I'm cutting down to one bass, one electric guitar and one acoustic.
It's a fantastic bass. I'm not selling it because it's a POS or anything! Anyway, onto details!
Spec:
Beautiful one piece alder body with a nice sunburst finish
Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard (20 frets
Chrome Badass II bridge
Re-issue Fender '75 jazz pickups
Allparts Black Perloid scratchplate (i love this!)
Hipshot Ultralite Tuners (fantastic tuners! Best I've used)
Comes with an extra black bridge pickup cover (incase you don't like the vintage white one I have on the Bridge pup)
It's a great bass. A little on the heavy side but I think it makes up in tone. It's got a very growly sound, great for rock but I've also played it in jazz scenarios and it's cut nicely.
The bass is in good condition, not perfect as you'd expect but it's been treat well! The usual little dings here and there. No buckle-rash and the back looks wonderful!
I found I could get a good Marcus Miller slap tone if I had everything on full, then roll the neck pickup off a little bit. That was one of my favourite tones.
The build quality is surprisingly good! I was really impressed with it and the neck feels really nice too.
On the back of the headstock there is a bunch of tiny screw holes where the old, larger tuners were. Obviously this isn't noticable unless you like to play with your back to the crowd! But I think the sacrifice for the hipshot tuners is well worth it!
There are two holes on the body where the ashtray used to be (before I got the badass. They don't fit with badasses on) and to me, they look fine and all just character of the bass. What you can do (and what I've done in the past) is simply get a chrome screw and a nice chrome washer and put them into the holes. It fits in with the look of the bridge and looks good! I just prefer it without.
Pictures below. Hopefully if the weather is nice tomorrow, I'll take some more pictures in the garden with my nice new camera.
I've also modded the bass to fit USA scratchplates. Mainly so I could get the black perloid one on but also because there is alot more choice with the MIA scratchplates.
I'm after £325+p&p for this and that is including a nice gig bag. I'm located in Durham so you're more than willing to make a trip up to see me to save on p&p costs (although it's usually just about £10 for p&p with Business Post, who are great!)

The blue kind of look to the control plate and the scratchplate are merely from the gigantic blue shed just out of shot ;) They're 100% silver/black, etc. :D
Note: I just realised, the above pictures don't have the cream bridge pickup, the badass II or the hipshot tuners in! I'll get some more photos taken :)
