When I was going through the Double Bass Encyclopedia I noticed parts with accents, could somebody explain this better? I know the difference between accents and unaccented notes with the hands it’s really just how high you’re letting your sticks fall from. Is it merely just hitting harder and softer on the kick or is there a technique that can be applied to this?

You hit harder than a usual hit, just like an accent with the hands.

Yup.

Dynamic bass drum control is something few practice.

Tricky how? Just hit harder.

By practicing everything at all dynamic levels you inherently practice the abbility to accent the kick.

If nothing else, slow it down and count out loud.

It's tricky because I already hit pretty hard(I had a horrible teacher, I have a better one now) so I have to untrain my foot not to hit as hard.
