My new bass arrived today. Woo. Got it off ebay, $180 for bass+case. Its a samick artist series. Plays gorgeous. Action is low, inotation is awesome. I love it.

My first bass was a Samick.

It played meh.

I don't really like the finish, but thats a nice price.

Hum, I love the way it plays. Sounds great to me. May I ask what you didn't like about it?

the neck was really fat, the frets were uneven and sharp (something that seems to be consecutive among their electrics), you could bend the neck quite easily, and the bridge was about as good as a mim fender (take that how you will). in fact, the saddle slot on the d string was too wide.

i hate ibanez guitars. very much.
but i have no problem with the basses. i prefer most other brands, by far, but nothing wrong with them. my first bass was an ibanez (see username :p).

If the fretboard is darker in person and is only light because of the flash, then I like it. The finish is... meh. It's not bad, but it's not good.

Samick basses = **** in my experience.



And that includes owning one for 5 years. No tone whatever, tons of pickup hum, useless tone control, uneven frets... should I go on?
