Finished our Demo!

Well. "Finished"
No vocals yet :( But I think they still sound killer (anything that doesn't have "Studio" written next to it was done in our band room on a whim, so the quality is not so great)

Now then. The "look at my band so i can try to gloat" portion of the thread is done.
Time to justify this being in the bass forum; I'd like some opinions on the tone

I recorded directly with my MTD Kingston 24, with everything completely flat, and no further EQing was done to the best of my knowledge

What do you guys think?

Bumped for awesomeness.

It's lacking a bit in tightness from time to time, and some transitions are less than smooth, but the riffs feel fresh and original and the mixing is top notch. The guitars sound Porcupine Tree-inspired, which is a very good thing.

its good to see a San Diego band on sput. That MTD sounds damn good for a DI, but i feel that the bass tone lacks "depth", but thats understandable considering you ran your EQ flat. Ive had a few practice rooms around sd and ive listened to quite a few bands around the area. so i think im qualified to say that that your band is pretty pretty pretty decent. id like to hear a professional recording with funkier and less generic drum fills.

It was a tiny bit out but that could be latency.

Apart from that, the ones I did listen to were awesome.

Yah lots of sloppyness in the band room songs... and even in the studio demo

Just more shtuff to work on I guess

We are scheduled to finish up the vocals hopefully this weekend, I'll give you guys an update when its done

I haven't been on this forum for about 3 weeks, and man I come back to post this and all I see are demo threads

Sorry guys for making one more one, but hey. Eh eh eh.
