Yeah, the bassist from Death from Above 1979. Does anybody knows what is his gear?

I know he uses Rickenbackers and Gibson Grabbers. Do you know what his pedalboard consists of?

EDIT: Gear
Bass Rickenbacker 4003, Dunlop Tortex 0.73mm triangle-shaped picks
Rig Vintage Peavey and Acoustic heads with two Traynor 8x10 cabinets loaded with PA speakers
Effects ’80s Ibanez SC10 Super Stereo Chorus pedal and Dunlop GCB-95 Crybaby wah-wah pedal

Just found it. xP

EDIT2:So here's my question...

I know he doesn't use distortion or overdrive pedals, but what pedal would be a good one to get a juicy and beefy overdrive like his'?

I don't want some freaking overdrive that just adds a weak power to my tone, I want a BEEFY one. I'm playing a Schecter custom-5, and the tone really cuts through my band set-up, but I'm also contemplating doing a more "Punk" band with as less guitar possible, so a beefy overdrive is needed.

Reccomendations?

Answered own question = /thread

That said, I really liked some of the tones he got. Hmm. . . did I need an "S" there? Oh well, I liked his fuzz tone anyway. Discuss your favorite tones, whether it's your tone or someone elses, and tell us how you get them, i.e.

EQ:
Effects:
Etc.

He does not own a distortion pedal, its straight from his amp. He has no pedals except for a bass wah which has modded. Rickenbacker was butchered and so was the grabber.

yeah what Singh said, he uses a Marshall guitar stack and uses the distortion from that

I thought he had Acoustic heads and cabs with the fuzz curcuitry and just completely overloaded his cabs

What I heard

Marshall stacks sound more like Lightning Bolt

yeah i managed to speak to him about his rig after a gig.... his overseas rig is quite a bit smaller than his normal gigging rig..... also he uses these really big picks that you cant get in the uk, he said he doesnt give picks to fans because they are hard to get hold of.

brian gibson from lightning bolt uses swr goliath cabs with carvin speakers and then some sort of sub woofer.. he has a very digital sound now.. he used to use an svt4pro but he kept screwing it up i believe

well, leaving it out in the rain might not help. i saw one picture of all their gear outside, in the rain.

Jesse also runs his bass through a mixer, and I saw him using a midi-synth= thus what ever sound he wants. I don't think he really promotes any mixers.

jesse doesn't use midi at all. he had some sort of switching device for between his bass, and synth (i forget which brand it was, but it'll come to me again. he bought it at a garage sale). they both ran into his amp and that's how the distorted tone came about. no midi, no mixers; just straight amp distortion from overpowering his cabs.

when i saw them live he didnt run thorugh a mixer.. but he also played his bass and synth at the same time so it couldnt have been a switching device

k, i've seen them live 4 times. no mixer, ever. he uses a morley a/b switch. (your video didn't show a mixer) and i'm assuming by mixer, you mean one of his synths (he has two there). one is a nord electro lead (i don't know if it's the original, or the lead 2) and his microkorg which he uses for the vocoder part in "Do it!".

I snagged the wrong video, the #3 has it I think, thats the only time Ive seen him use one though, so I wouldn't consider him to use one.
