right so this follows on from my thread on tommy the cat...
which is the correct way (as in on the cd) version to play lacquer head by primus, off antipop?
searching 'lacquer head' in www.bassmasta.net comes up with 8 results, are any of them perfect?
if so, let me know
thanks
Perfect Primus tab = probably nonexistant.
I trust Powertabs though, they are usually mostly accurate and have a rating system.

On that note, what's the preferred site for powertab downloads? I'm using ultimate guitar most of the time, but I don't really like the site.

Powertabs.net, they have the biggest collection.

Yes but it's free.
Ultimate Guitar might have it, they steal most of the tabs from powertabs.

in my experience i havnt seen a decent laquer head tab, the notes are mainley right but they all seem to be telling you to slap wen you should be struming the strings mutet and hiting the notes with your thumb as you strum were notes are sounded.

the whole intro is slapped, the only part that is strummed is the pre chorus bit, with the C powerchord and the Eflat " lacquer head knows what one desires, lacquerhead sets his skull on fiya!", everything else is slapped.
best example of how to play the song is by watching him, tabs dont explain it

there are some accurate versions on the net.. best thing to do though is watch a live video of les playing it.. itl show you exactly what hes doing with his right hand..
i bass solo thing after the first chorus is awesome.. not too hard but hella impressive!
i also like the bit after the second chorus where les does some simple tapping and then slide/taps with his right thumb down the fret board.

actualy lissen to the normal recording and then lissen to that vid, they aint the same at all, you canot produce that sound through slaping. infact he even plays a symplified rythm in that version on the vid.

no he plays the exact same rythm? its identical in everyway cept for the drugged out interlude because he doesnt have the overdubbed track
