My question is simple and to the point. How much does playing music, and Bass Guitar mean to you?
It is a very big part of my life.

It's not just a big part of my life, music basically is my life.

My life would be empty and meaningless if there was no music in it. Actually, if it wern't for music, I wouldn't have met my girlfriend, or any of my other amazing friends that kept me from going over the edge in some tough times. I think I can honestly say that I would be dead had it not been for music.

im pretty much the same, before i picked up bass i was just a complete waste of space, music has shaped the last 3 & a half years of my life and they have been by far the best and most important years of my life.

Same, but for two years. Only thing I've really applied myself in, and my life's got so much better since I took it up.

Same here, except I've only been playing for just under a year. I did have to admit that I was so dedicated to playing bass that I improved to the point where I could buy a 5-string bass just a few months after starting off with a Squire P-Bass. Furthermore, if it weren't for the determination to improve my bass-playing skills, I probably wouldn't have become a good enough guitarist to get myself a good guitar as well.

Music is a fairly large part of my life. Though I wouldn't go as far as to say my life would be worthless without music or anything.

for me playing bass is a way to releave stress. i work hard in school, i work hard at work, i like to just come home and sit around playing bass. im not good (yet) but still playing is fun. although trying to be flea can be a little stressful. but i figured if im gonna learn someones music i might as well learn from one of the best

I would be a professional gamer had I not picked up music.
Bass is my life.
I was pretty useless in elementary. My grades were just a little bit above average, but not anything anyone would call outstanding. I was picked on and bullied, even though I was always the tallest boy in school. I was never athletic either, even though I always wanted to be. In PE class, all the other boys would walk (or run) right through me in football, basketball, baseball, etc. In middle school, I was always a lineman and not the quarterback or at least a receiver. They never passed me the ball when I was open. And omg, I could never hit that stupid baseball.
But when I learned bass and joined my band in the 7th grade, pretty much everything changed. Me and my band members were the only 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th graders that were rocking out. For four years, we were the only guys in school that had a band. That made me and my band really special and unique from everyone else. Now I had something to brag about. Now I had something that other people were jealous of. Now I had something that other people could only wish they could do. I had a bass and the ability to play one.

Well its my livelyhood, its what I want to do for a living, whether its teaching, band word or session work I want to do something in music.
Music saved my life and I ****ing love music so it means a lot.
and I reckon my side band really has potential to be the next zeppelin, if not famous then at least earning enough from gigging and stuff to pay half the bills, the other half can be covered by teaching and session work.
Thats my plan, I also want to get a degree in bass playing and another qualification in drumming perhaps at brighton institute of modern music.

It's finally something I've found that I love, and I want to nurture it so that it can be something to wake up in the morning to.
Deep man, really.
