I could use some help on a cab decison,
The Basson 810 is a nice cab but i dont think 1200 watts would make that cab sound to well, I am currently using a Avatar 410 and i like the cab but i would like to either add another 410 cab or get the basson 115, what do you guys think about the basson 115?
I am gonna have to bridge my head and pair the two cabs in paralell at 4ohms so i will be pusing 1200 watts, i am currently powering my 410 avatar at 900 watts at 8 ohms.

things that come to mind are the Basson 810 but its big for my car, the basson 115 or maybe a ampeg 215 but i bet that would be too muddy.

The Basson 810 is built to handle 2000W, so I think putting 1200W through it would be okay by any standard.

But would it be enough?
My backup head is pos GK Backline 250 and when i power my 410 cab with that it causes my speakers to distort, the head clips and my speaker cones are bottoming out so badly and its the worst sound in the world, but with my 900 watts through my 410 cab the cab never distorts and even at extremely loud volumes it doesnt distort and the speaker cones barely move, and thats what i like.
What do you guys think i should add for a second cab for like 500 bucks or less and would my avatar cab stack on top of it well?

Yeah, the 810 should sound fine being powered with an amp running at 1200W. The Avatar 4x10 is rated at 1000W, and you are currently running it at 900W, so it should be fine.

The reasons for the GK Backline 250 distorting when being paired up with the Avatar 4x10 is probably because the Avatar has a lower Ohm rating than the GK Backline, so the cab is trying to pull more out of the head than it can push out.

Don't take my word for any of this, though, because, when it comes to technical questions, I really am not entirely sure of what I am talking about.

You would probably be better off adding a 1x15 or something of the sort to go with your 4x10. Just buy another Avatar. I know a kid that has both an Avatar 4x10 and a 1x15, and it sounds nice together.

I want some low end, and sometimes my band plays so loud that my ears hurt so bad i wish i would have used earplugs. So what i mean is i dont want to get pushed around.

Then use earplugs and tell your mates to turn down a bit. If they don't turn down, earplugs will save you from this ridiculousness known as playing music at high volumes.

You are pushing 900W through a rated 1000W cab. I would hate to know what your guitarists are running.

We have one guitarist, so i carry the band alot, I have the older avatar cab loaded with the eminence betas and it doesnt break up, i just want some low end to go with my rythym type bass lines. Our drummer plays loud but when your in a basement it always seems louder. My guitar player only uses what i believe is a 60 watt tube amp.

So, you're telling me your guitarist is playing through what you think is a 60W tube amp, and you, a drummer, and a guitarist are playing in a basement, yet you feel that you are being pushed around, yet you have the highest rated amp in the room?

You aren't making any sense.

If you feel that you need more bass, adjust your EQ and figure out what settings provide you with what you want. You should be fine.

We practice in the basement and im not really being pushed around but im not happy that i dont have the low end that i crave, but i still want my justin chancellor highs and mids.
I just got ahold of my guitarist and he is using a 100 watt tube head with a 412 cab loaded with vintage 30's

Yeah, you still shouldn't have a problem cutting through the mix with what you have. Just fiddle around with your EQ. Sounds to me like you are just unhappy about the fact that you don't have enough bass, so boost your bass a bit, then see how well that works for you.

What head are you using at the moment anyway?

Im using a poweramp and using a Sansamp programmable with my dbx stereo compressor. I think thats one of the best ways to go for more power.

Yeah, I would just try and find a bass generous EQ setting at the moment until you add something to your stack seeing as a 4x10 should give you the mids and highs that you want.

I own 2 fenders,
1 MIA Fender Jazz Deluxe and one MIM Jazz Deluxe.
I still own my first bass too, its a squire that i have owned for almost 9 years, and a hohner bass that i have owned for about 8 years.
