I am seriously considering getting a spector performer off of the internet. Only problem is that I have no way of playing on because no retailer around where I live carries Spector stuff. So I turn to you guys, I have heard really good things about spector basses. So have any of you played specifically the Peformer 4 string and what did you think of it? Thanks so much

the performer is a nice bass, but for spectors its fairly entry level, what kind of stuff do you play, and what do you want this bass for, a beginner bass, a backup bass, a main bass what?:thumb:

It will probablly be my main bass, but im not like most of you that are willing to spend a fortune on a bass. Theres nothing wrong with that but its just not me. I just need something that will be decent enough to get by with. I play like rock alternative music, nothing too hard, not soft either. I like the tone of the EMG pups from what ive heard in the past on other basses. So would this be a good choice, also how are the necks on this model? thanks

this sounds like a good bass for you then, versatile, rock orientated, but if you can, try playing a warwick streamer or a dean edge for a bass similar in terms of playability, and the dean edges are close to identical in structure and what theyre made of, this will be a good bass to get you by, but firt go to your local music store(s) and look for other basses that seem similar, or could also be what your after:thumb:

If you ant an entry Spector go for a Legend over a performer.

Improved everything.

Get at least a Legend Classic or Q4 if you can find one, I never liked the tone of the Performers.
