Good Jesus it's amazing. Has to be the smoothest neck I've ever played. Amazing tone, incredibley low action, tight B string and just beautiful to look at. I'll be getting a 6string one ordered in for me as soon as my student loan comes through. Alllllllllllright.

Just thought I'd share.

Discuss basses you played that almost made you cream yourself.

I played it once for about ten minutes and didn't like it. Maybe one day a Yamaha will impress me.

I played a Peavey Cirrus the other day. It was like an orgasm with four strings.

Oh I have seen the light. I've always thought Yamaha was the dark horse of basses. Now I realise they're just simply awesome.

I need my loan to come through. I need that bass. My current Yamaha just feels so wimpy now:(

It had THE clearest sound that I have ever heard, on any bass. The spacing killed my hand though.

Aye the spacing wasn't much of a great selling point. But I know I'll get used to it, I already felt myself get used to it after 5 minutes of playing. Granted I did only play the 5 version but that's obviously not the point:p

You're right about the clearness though. Both pickups are just...insane, I didn't really have much of a fiddle with the active controls but I easily got an outstanding tone. I'm prolly going to be waiting about a month for it. Oh so worth it though. Just thinking about it makes me cum a little.

A few weeks ago I played a Bongo at GC. I have always digged the looks, but wow. They sound so nice.

Bingo!

Peavey Cirrus' play like ****ing butter. They're amazing. So tight feeling and delicious sounding.

The different notes were so articulate on the one that I played. Even the low B and C notes.

vintage jazz or precision (played both a couple months ago in a music store on vacation). they were amazing.

more reachable goal....: '51 p-bass reissue. played that at GC and blew me away. oozing with tone and style.

less attainable: warwick streamer II. just amazing.

The Peavey Cirrus I played had only one tone: overly bright.

The only TRB I remember playing was Quatre's (and the other one in Boston), and it had a clear tone, but I find it a bit lifeless.

I have to play one again, though.

Yamaha basses tend to have boring tone in my experience. Like radio said, "lifeless" sums up Quatre's tone from what I have heard.

From what I remember I liked the sound of a fretless Stingray I played a while back. I recently played a Spector for the first time and I was really impressed. For $900, it was a quality made instrument and sounded great.

I've still yet to find a bass that "almost makes me cream myself" though.
