quick question - output jack problem

hey guys
the output jack on my fender J is ****ed up and i tried resoldering it, and it didn't solve the problem, so I'm looking to replace it...are there different output jacks for guitars and for basses, or does it not matter as long as it's a mono jack?
also, about how much should one cost? thanks

there isnt any difference between bass and guitar jacks, and the most expensive one i could find online was $10 USD, but most were less than that.

You might try cleaning the contacts with alcohol. Also make sure it's not your cord that's the problem.
