Anyone know a way I can determine the sample rate of my sound card? It's just a regular card that came with my motherboard. It's not generally meant for hifi recording but I was wondering if there's a way from within Windows or some 3rd party program I could use to see what the actual sample rate was. Like often good recording cards will say they are 24 bit 96 khz. How can I determine these rates for my card? Thanks for your help.

its probably basic CD quality recording, 44.1 khz @ 16 bit.

A lot of them will go up to 48 kHz and 24-bit sampling (DVD quality) these days. I don't know of any specific programs, but some drivers have test functions within their console. Perhaps yours does.

Thanks for the help guys. I did notice after installing ASIO4ALL that when I open the ASIO4ALL console it lists Nivida nForce audio and then says-
Out:6x 48khz, 16bits
In: 2x 32-48khz, 16bits.
So is that telling me what the sample rate is of my Nvidia card? And which rate would it be if it is? Probably the 'In' rate, right? Sorry for the newb questions but I'm still learing about computer recording. Thanks again.

They should probably be the same. But it looks like you're running at 48 kHz, and 16 bits

Thanks Moseph. That's not too bad for a basic sound card that came with my motherboard. Though eventually I'm getting something better for this pc.
