how do i get my roto toms to have a more real/full sound or are they made just for the attack type sound?

they have no resonance because they have no shell and no resonant head. I have no idea how you will work around that!

True. I think it's impossible just using the roto's themselves. I'm sure you could but like some sort of tub-ey thingy built on your own and put it on the end? I dunno what I'm talking about it just kind of sounds like it might help.

maybe you could weld the roto toms to a metal bucket?

What's your work? Sounds cool if you get to weld ****.

Maybe it's boring, I just like it because I've never done it before.

They do resonate quite well, if they're tuned a bit lower. Think timpani.

why would you want roto toms to sound like actual toms?

either way it's not going to happen because roto toms are made to sound like roto toms, not real toms

I use Remo Pinstripes on my rotos, they're Remo rotos.

I don't know if I'm crazy, but they definitely can tune to a high fat tom.

just mess around with them roofowls.

They used to make a plastic shell that could attach to rotos....don't know if they still do, but maybe you could make one? Its still not going to sound quite like a regular tom, but might get you closer.

I think those were just to help project the sound........................

I love the sound of Rotos, think old-school Bruford!

I'd love a setup with just rotos as toms, maybe for my prog/stoner thing, WHO KNOWS!

I have Pinstripes on mine and I noticed if you tune them a little lower than normal but not too much then they will resonate a lot and sound like a tom.

I use G2's, they sound great. Really nice tone, sound awesome tuned either high or low.

Really? When I used two plys...I had to tune em higher to get any tone out of them, low tunings gave alot of warbling.
