This thread will be dedicatated to those clever people from Italy who play what can only be best described as "Film Score Metal", something that genuinely is unique and original in the modern metal scene today.
They are best known for their incredible collaborations with full on Orchestras and the more popular rhythm/lead guitarist Luca Turilli is well recognised for his solo work. For a full biography and lots of detailed information on this band, simply visit their website

With a new album so close, this thread will be made for discussion when it is finally released....

I remember when I first discovered these guys a few years back, I was blown away by the guitar solos. Dawn of Voctory being my favourite.

I'm liking Tales From The Emerald Sword Saga best, although the guitar tone is the weakest they have ever had....

I've only heard Holy Thunderforce from that album, I only have a small collection of songs.

Get Emerald Sword, you'll find it on YouTube, no doubt
It's arguably the most catchy guitar intro they have on that album

Oh, I have that too, I never noticed.
Yeah cool intro.

Possibly the only Power Metal band I can stand, together with CoB.
I have all of their discography. Great band.

rhapsody are great... i remember HOW i was introduced to them. it was a quake 3 arena fan-movie and while you could see all the frags, in the background they played epicus furor followed by emerald sword. the best interlude i ever heard :D
edit: during epicus furor you were introduced to the game, the arena... and on the first chord of emerald sword, the first frag :)

Has anyone else heard Triumph or Agony yet? It leaked a while back. Pretty decent album, a lot more symphonic elements than on previous releases.
 There's also like a short movie script read out in the Mystic Prophecy of the Demon Knight (best song name ever too :D) involving Christopher Lee once agan.

they say, that they changed their name... but not why exactly? who (which company?) said that they should not call themselves rhapsody anymore....?

I think the reason they changed their name is ****ing stupid.
It's like the WWF having to change to WWE ebcause of some ****ing animal company. Yeah fair enough they're already called WWF but realising there's a wrestling company with the same name like how many damn years after they started??
If I remember correctly it was legal issues with Real Player.

Yea, Rhapsody had legal issues with the band, and forced them to change their name. Pretty retarded.
Anyhoo, quite possibly the cheesiest band alive, and I love every single moment of it, although I think they're starting to show their age a bit. Triumph Or Agony is following the set formula, and the guitar riffs are starting to become less catchy.

Gargoyles, Angels of Darkness is their best song, its is so ****ing epic. I really like the albums Dawn of Victory and Symphony of Enchanted Lands.

 one of my favourite parts in G, AoD is that monologue or whatever the hell it is at the end... always makes me crack up whenever I hear talk of cosmic chaos. One of the only 20ish minute songs that I listen to on a regular basis :)

Yeah I love that part to, it slay majorly. Anyone here heard any of Luca Turilli's solo stuff?
I've heard some of it, but it wasn't on par with Rhapsody if you ask me.

His solo stuff is basically Rhapsody albums all over again, except for The Infinite Wonders Of Creation. That one's different, and quite good, I must say.

Anyone else hear really love the song Rage of the Winter?? I've seriously found myself listening to that/the whole Legendary Tales album an insane amount lately

Ira Tenax, Warrior of Ice and Rage of Winter are one of the greatest song by them... the beginning of this album is so fantastic :thumb:

Yeah, I was really hoping that ToA would be more geared towards that side of their sound. Oh well, as long as they come back to Canada atleast once. Prefferably without supporting Manowar

Rage of the Winter is a really awesome song. I love the solos in that one.

Yeah, I like Luca's style of playing more and more whenever I hear it. And Alex Staropoli does some of my favourite keyboard work too now that I think about it. \m/

Lucca totally over powers everyone elses playing though. The only thing with more emphasis than Lucca's playing is Fabios' singing. Personally I don't think Alex is given enough chances to really show off his chops.
