Pop-Punk has always been a place full of wonderfull people who foremost love pop-punk. But we have always embraced other styles of music related to our genre, but also unrelated. SO WHY HAVEN'T WE HAD A THREAD ABOUT RISE AGAINST?!? I know for a fact lots of people like the band. I know I sure do. Nothing short of amazing material is all the band has ever put out. Check them out if you haven't, then comment. If you have already...DISCUSS!
The new album was a surprise for me. I was hoping it wouldn't be a clone of Siren Song of the Counter Culture even though that is a superb album, but I thought it would be. However, The Sufferer and The Witness successfully combined both the older and new styles of the band. It may be their best yet, but I'm still undecided on it.

Indeed, this thread has not started off well. :(
Vince's awesomeness should probably make up for it, but he has to keep talking about Rise Against!
lol @ my mistake

ROFL.
So..I only read the thread title, and briefly.
Let's say I thought it said "Against Me" not "Rise Against".
:upset:
I love Rise Against
I love The Sufferer And The Witness, it's one of my favorite albums.

They put on an awesome show at Warped Tour in Charlotte.
It was my friend's first concert experience, and I sent him into the pit during their set.

I saw them at a show, not bad at all.
Great band. Loved them since Brandon introduced me to them 2 years ago. So not that long.
I saw them at Leeds festival. They were freakin' sweet. Damn fine band, but I can only listen to them every now and then.
Against Me! are sexy too.

Edgefest isn't even coming to Tulsa I don't think and it usually does. :upset:
Bands I need to see live before I die: Rise Against, and Coheed & Cambria. BoySetsFire would be on that list too, but that's out the window. :(
So about this "The Sufferer and The Witness" album. It kicks arse. The best part is the last three songs. The three are going to be subject of an article I plan to write for the next newsletter. :)

Their most recent video was one of the lamest things I've ever seen.

How so? They have beliefs and wanted to make their music video to have a purpose instead of the regular old music video. I'd say it's a good thing for them to stand up for their beliefs and share them with people. You don't have to watch it if you don't, but then that means you approve of the slaughter of baby chickens. :(

Colonel Sanders is dead.
I imagine his coffin is fairly damp, so he's most likely cool with anything right about now.

Back to Rise Against talk.
Chamber the Cartridge, or State of the Union as better album openers?
State of the Union by far for me. It's so full of energy it's unbelievable, but the drumming on Chamber the Cartridge is really cool too.

I am being negligent of older RA material aren't I. :( Yeah, the whole RPM album is amazing.
RPM is freakin' awesome. Perhaps I should invest in some of their stuff from between that album and Sufferer.
Daily Upload anyone? :thumb:
Still love Like The Angel.

Love Rise Against... my favourite album is Siren Song (I haven't heard all of the Unravelling).
Too bad I'm not 18/don't have fake I.D and I won't be seeing them when they tour in December.

you fuxxing suck RPM owns anything RA have ever done.
SSOTCC is really good too though.

Revolution Per Minute totally owns all the other albums..
The new one is pretty good though. Favorite songs from that one: Chamber The Cartridge, Injection, Bricks, Prayer For The Refugee and Behind Closed Doors.
Black Masks & Gasoline is also a better opening track than any of the others.
Rise Against are so awesome!!!

I love RPM. I really like the new album, too. For some reason I love the last half of the track "The Good Left Undone."

No way. I don't get why they made such a weird ending to that song. At least they could have made it an intro to the last song instead.

revolutions per minute is pretty good. the rest of their stuff isn't anything exciting.
they were really gay at warped tour too.

I stated that wrong. I didn't mean the instrumental after the dead silence. I meant the last chorus and the alternate version of the chorus. "All because of you..."

The Unraveling is by far their weakest effort.

Ohh, in that case I agree :chug:
i have revolutions, siren song, and sufferer. revolutions is by far the best album. siren song is solid, but not as strong and sufferer is kinda weak IMO.

Rise Against is my favorate band ever, I saw them at warped and it was the greatest experience of my life. Too bad they mainly played SSOTCC songs, but at least they played heaven knows. Good times.
And in my opinion its RPM>Sufferer and the Witness>The Unraveling>SSOTCC.
Everchanging, Blood red, white and blue, Torches, Prayer of the refugee, and Sometimes selling out is giving up are all amazing songs. I love Rise Against, even though I missed them when they played with A Wilhelm Scream :(

Second best band I saw at Leeds festival back in August.
Like The Angel is such a good song.
And you can't beat their cover of Anyway You Want It.

I think it's safe to say they're my second favorite band, after Thrice. My band plays a cover of Like The Angel.

I think their singer has a ****ing great voice. Can't believe he sounded so lame on the Bad Religion DVD (in the break of 'Let Them Eat War').
I'm not afraid to admit TS&TW is my favorite RA album.closesly followed by SSOTCC and RPM.
