how to scream

i've been looking absoulutly everywhere on the internet and i cant find anything that can tell you or help you learn how to scream. (by scream i mean alexisonfire type vocals) can anyone tell me what to do or at least give me tips? when i try it just sounds like yelling and it hurts my voice :(

Screaming isn't that hard, nor inventive, but that's irrelevant to my point. You should be able to figure out. Getting angry always helps.

Mainly what you want to do is bring the air from your balls. That's where you want to be pushing from.

it took me a while to scream learning on my own but basically what i did was turn up the volume of my favorite band as loud as it would go until i could just barely hear myself. then i would constrict my throat (bad thing to do) and push out as much air and voice as i could until i could match that volume and sound, eventually i got better at it and could hear myself progressing, i learned to use my diaphram and not my lungs to push out my scream but i still tighten up my thoat a little bit depending on how high or low i want my scream to sound. i would recomend drinking luke warm water before, in between, and after to keep your throat lubricated and to keep voice from cutting out too fast, after a while my throat does that and my scream doesnt sound as powerful as it should be, dont be suprised if you can taste blood in your throat if you've been pushing your voice hard. to sum it all up i would say practice using your diaphram be loud to get a nice powerful scream and drink water to help your throat recover. practice makes perfect, good luck
