The twenty fourth of December
Is a night I will remember
When all aboard the Royal Mary
Were ready to surrender
The way the crew looked that night
From my nest at such a height
The hours passed and with the light
I saw a beautiful sight
Calling to get out of bed
I'm screaming that I'm seeing land
Our journey can finally end
Reaching Christmas Island

It seems like a cool idea and I like some of the lines but I feel this really needs to be more developed. Like you could maybe add something about your anticipation before getting to this island or maybe even describe the sights and sounds of "Christmas Island". Also, a couple of the lines seemed half developed, some didn't make any sense what so ever, and the middle stanza's first two sentences seem slightly forced but I really like the last two.

Remember Remember the 15th of May,
When the british threw a H-Bomb their way,
No evacuation just people in cover,
The first test was fun, so we did another!
Radioactivity, low from this mightly blast,
But many were blinded by the god aweful flash.
Fin.
And that ladies and gents has as much chance of being regarded as an actual song, as the song which is posted above it.
Im not quite sure what you were aiming for here but whatever it was it just doesn't work for me, either some ridiculous little history lesson or a story told in first person by even though you weren't there which in itself is incredibly pretencioius. The song would fit in better in some kind of historical novel than in a musical context.
