I really hope that you are familiar with The Velvet Underground, because you remind me very much of their stuff. Check them out if you aren't.

Absolutely no melody to the vocals in either song, but I think that was part of the appeal. Low quality production, but that's one thing that helped make me keep listening.

Just for fun, I'm gonna suggest that you read some Beat poetry/literature, too, because I think that could really help your lyrics. Not that they're bad at all, but I think that you'd find it to be of interest. Check out some Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg at your library, and learn from them what you can.
