Do you think buffets are a positive for society?

Here in America they're big all around, at least all that I've been to. Is that the same way in other nations?

On one hand, you get a good bargain, but it helps obesity rates rise, as, in order to get your money's worth, you're inclined to gorge. And every time I go to the local Chinese buffet, I see morbidly obese people...they shouldn't be at the buffets:smash: :smash:

The only good thing about a buffet is the selection.
But I avoid buffets because it's hard to leave before you're stuffed.

Plus, I think buffets are generally less sanitary than regular restaurants.

it's OK to go to a buffet once in a while but you shouldn't be visiting one too often. i eat alot when i go, but i'm really skinny so i need to fatten up

I don't personally like buffet's, but I dont think we need to ban them or stop people from going to them. If someone is fat because they eat too much, that's their own fault for their lack of self control.

Buffets are a trick perpetrated by corporations to get free labor from its customers!!! Why pay employees to make food to the customers orders when they can pay fewer employees to put out the ingredients and have people pay you to gain access to them?

Seriously, though, I can barely finish the plate I get from normal places who already seem to pile on the food to stay in competition. I know my family doesn't feel any better leaving a buffet than they do going in. For my dad, if you don't get at least three plates there, you don't get your monies worth. But Chinese buffets get all the pardons in the world because it's just so darn tasty.

Buffets serve fatty food in bulk. McDonalds serves fatty food in small portions. Saying one is somehow worse than the other- healthwise, at least, is silly.

I like buffets. There are a few pretty good ones not to far away from where I live. I don't think we should ban them or anything because of obesity, because it's not really the restaurant's fault.
