Anyone use supplements, what do you use? I weigh about 140 and I'm not sure exactly what to buy, if I buy at all. Does it matter which? GNC has some protein shakes I think.

Protein is the only supplement I currently use. The only other I do/have used is L-Glutamine and is really the only other I would recommend. Two before and after training helps preserve muscle and give it the maximum impact. Some people will recommend Creatin, but I would be weary. Its not explicitly bad for you, but it is not neccesary at all. Just lift and keep the intake of protein and carbohydrates up.

I just bought Cyto Gain /w 54grams protein per serving, I weigh 140 (idk if it matters), so I should go one serving 1 hour before working out and 1 hour after and then a third serving before I go to bed amirite?

Well, before working out I take 43 milligrams of psilocybin, 23 milligrams of tetrahydrocannabinol, and 36 milligrams of dimethyltryptamine. It's working out pretty well for me.

I use stuff called Premium Whey by Body Fortress. Seems okay, 20g protein, 5g carb, 110 calories, 2.5g fat per serving. More importantly, it tastes good. :)

If that is what it says, yes. Otherwise, I would recommend getting a hearty meal after working out, and taking the protein 1:30-2:00 hours before.

don't take creatin or anythin like that especially first time taking supplements, because if you stop working out or taking them it can start to eat away at your muscles, leaving you worse off than before.

I would recommend a simple protein shake before and after exercise to start with, move on to supplements later when your body is more used to the extra protein/exercise combo.

I take Whey Protein, Creatine and L-Glutamine. First time going on supplements was with Creatine and I can say its not for everyone. I dont have a problem with it, nor does it seem to have a problem with my body. Like it has been said before, once you stop taking creatine it will retrack all the progress that you have made. Though in some cases it is not always true. All you need is protein when weight lifting, creatine glutamine is all just an extra that is your choice to decide to take or not to take.

There are some things that you should learn about creatine before you decide not to take it or to take it.

First- Its mostly water retention, but dont let that be the reason not to take it, as it does still add muscle mass and does give you more energy.

Second - It is not a steroid.

Third - It is not bad on your kidney as long as you take a controlled amount. It is shown when you take upwards of 25 grams of creatine a day it is hard on your kidneys. All you need to take is around 3 - 5 grams a day ontop of the 1 -2 that your body already makes.

Forth - Creatine is naturally made in the body by your kidneys.

Fifth - There are several different generations of creatine. The newer ones (fourth generation if I am not to be mistaken) will have alot of what is called dextrose in it. Dextrose is something that is also made in the body to help transport the creatine through out the body faster which will make creatine work faster. So when buying creatine look for which one has the most creatine monohydrate and dextrose in as little of a serving as possible for the cheapest price as well.

I would advise to look deep into this and research it alot before you make the choice.

The only reason I wrote this is to show that you cannot just totally ignore creatine just because of rumors. Did you know that not one human in the world has actually did directly from taking creatine or for that matter steroids?

I would also advise to go to Pop Eyes Supplements if you have one in your town. They seem to completely destroy GMC prices and if you find a better price there just show them and they will beat them.

How often would you recommend you need to take creatine?

Like for example I work out about 3-4 times a week and I usually have a protein shake before and after every workout. Is it the same for creatine?

I am somewhat interested in taking it, but I am also kind of turned off at the fact that it retracts what muscle you have built up if you stop taking it.

You will find that with certain creatine companies that they will recommend different times to take creatine. Im using cell mass right now and it recommends to take it right after working out. I generally take creatine right after a work out and on days that I dont work out I take it with my breakfast. I also take whey protein approx 30 minutes before working out and before I go to sleep. I would recommend to follow the directions on the back because this stuff is tested for the best results.

I would also like to add that with protein I think that it is bogus the way that they say to take it on the container. It seems to me that they just want you to take far mroe then you actually need to just to get a couple more bucks off of you. On mine it says to take on gram of protein per pound of body weight. So being at 200 pounds thats almost a tub a week. That adds up to something like 6 bucks a serving. The way I figure it is that you do eat alot of protein through out the day, and taking this stuff is extra. So say you take 100 grams of protein in a day out of food then you take an extra 200 grams of protein from your shakes in....thats alot of protein. Your body can only take so much. After a certain amount of protein your body literally just craps out the rest.

Just something I thought I would add to make you think.

Now back on topic the creatine. When you stop supplying your body with the creatine you tend to lose your results. This is not always the case. I am told by several friends that if you stop taking creatine and continue to work out you dont actually lose those results. This could also be just the specific body type that they have though.

In other cases with some of my friends they have just used creatine to jump a barrier. One of my buds was benching 195 for the longest times. Almost a month he said he was benching it and not improving. He took creatine for a little while just to jump that barrier and stopped shortly after. This could also be an option for you.

Sorry the posts are so long I just try to get as much information down as possible.

OK I think I might get a small sample of creatine and see what the directions say.

I am most likely going to try it for a while and see how I like it. If not I will most likely stop using it. It I feel like it helps then great I will probably continue to use it in moderation like the protein shakes. If not then I'll bag it.

No biggie on the long posts either, the more information the better. Thanks:)
