i just found a olp/traben tb4 bass on sale for $127. has anyone played one? i now have a squire jazz bass. its getting kinda old. im trying to learn how to slap. it seemed like when i was playing the olp it was slapping better and there was more space between the strings so i dont bump the others much. it was a little outa tune and their were no amps hooked up so i couldnt really try it out. so i was wondering if anyone has heard how it sounds. and for $127 i wouldnt really mind if its not the best. only complaint ive heard about it (in the one review i found) was that the strings werent that good but thats a quick fix

im assuming that its the one with those traben-like flames? i played one at my local guitar shop, i didn't have any complaints about it, though i didn't plug it in.

it sounds like a pretty good deal, i know that it was more than that at my local place. olp seems to make some fairly decent stuff. if you like it, go for it.

I have no experience with the OLP Trabens, but I swear by my OLP MM-2. Feels great, sounds great, killer quality.
I would buy it if you like the look/feel/sound.

$127?
Go for it, even if it is ****, its cheap, sell it to a n00b if you don't like it.

i got it. its pretty nice. and since i waited a while the only one left was the floor model so i got another 10% off so i got a $255 bass for $114! the strings are a little close to the top of the frets but i can deal with a little rattling for now

Just raise the action, it's really easy.
