I've read about Mew a bunch of times on these forums, but I never checked 'em out until I got And Glass Handed Kites yesterday. I'm only half way through it now, but its blowing me away. Special is one of the best songs I've heard in a long time.

I saw one of their songs on Subterranean, and it just didn't catch my ear. I don't know, I just didn't dig it, so I changed the channel to Chappel's standup.

Fair enough, Chappelle is good.
But yeah it's real good.

I'll check out some of their stuff tomorrow.
Yeah they're great. I havent heard Frengers though. Does anyone know how it sounds in contrast to Glass Handed Kites?

Frengers is even more beautiful imo.
Song-wise Frengers is their best yet (containing re-recorded versions of songs off their two first albums from 1997 and 2000, respectively), however Glass Handed Kites is much more experimental and adventurous (more ambient/noisy.

Oh...nevermind then. :thumb:
I've always enjoyed Frengers more than the more recent material.

it's settled then. i have to get frengers now, asap. but one of the things i love about GHK is the epicness of it all, as thats what really blew me away originally. hopefully frengers will have the same effect.

Yeah, i originally looked into them because their promo poster had a quote from somewhere that said "This is more epic than the bible". Now i'm not sure how epic the bible is, but GHK is pretty damn great.

The only mew material that is woth listening to, is their first album: Triumph For A Man and their second album: Half The World Is Watching Me.. the other two album are just boring.

They get a lot of hate in Denmark by music elitists. Basically because they're popular.
They are so overrated here in Denmark, its unbelievable. And for some reason their music irritates the hell out of me. Don't know why.

Because Denmark doesn't boast a lot of acts that are actually worthwhile. Mew is one of the best bands we have.

frengers is their best album. Triumph of a man and half the world is watching both have some different versions of the songs, so it's definately worth checking out. GHK is a great album too, but frengers doesn't have a bad song on it.
