A Custom vs. New Beats??

Just bought a pair of A Customs like a month ago, but just found a set of New Beats for a semi-cheap price. Got completely ripped off by my local music shop for the price of my A Customs!!:angry: Is there much of a difference btw the sound of the 2 to sell my A customs and get the new beats??? both are 14 inch by the way.

wel, play the new beats and decide for yourself, if they are regular A Custom hats, i prefer them to new beats, but i prefer the new beats to the A Custom Master sounds. i love the quick beats the best though.

what kind of A customs are they ? and how much did you pay ? Are you sure you got ripped off ? Cause A customs can be a bit pricey, considering their superiority.

They are the regular 14 inch A customs, they arent nbs or Master sounds. So embarassed to say how much i paid for them, $315us went in looking for Z customs (which thank god i didnt get) so i didnt research the A that much. This was way before i started reading these forums or checking stuff out. SO i guess i owed the guy the extra $$$ to steer me away from the Z customs.

Don't buy high priced stuff from dealers! i payed for a regular Remo Ambassador batter (clear and nothin' special about it) i payed 50 DOLLARS! i could've gotten in for like 20 bucks cheaper on line

Hmm yeah you could have gotten those hats for $15 cheaper, thats about it. He kinda jipped ya but not really enough to make a fuss over.

they had the new beats for $89!!!!!!! ill never buy from a store again in my life. But yea i think ill just stick with the A customs. I played the new beats a little in the store but not enough to justify replacing my current ones. Unless i go double high hats like lars......but then again i dont really understand the purpose of that

it's for a bunch of things, but 3 are

1) patterns and such, like paradiddles between 2 diffrent types of hats sounds really cool

2)playing on one set while playing the other side with a foot pedal, or just having a pair that's always set open/closed

3) looks, it looks cooler to play a set of hats on the right side of a kit, it's really metal \m/

The A Customs are pretty nasty... And the price of cymbals has gone up over time, so thats not an absolutely terrible price...

I own some Z Customs that I bought like 6(?) years ago, and I still love them... If I didn't play in a hard rock/metal band I wouldn't want anything to do with them, but since we are all about being loud they work out quite nicely. My hats are the only Z Customs I have left on my set though. Everything else is A Custom or Wuhan :)

aigh jeez, that is sort of a rip off... Oh well, theyre great cymbals ! Learn from your mistake, and just revel in the fact that you have superior cymbals to most people.
