View Full Version : My new Pearl SMX

Well I just bought a 2 year old Pearl SMX in Vintage Fade for 700 dollars! That is a great deal. I also got the Pearl Session Custom 14" snare. I bought these from the drummer of Morning or the Masses and that explains the sticker on the resonant head. That will be removed but I just got these yesterday. If you see anything wrong with the angles please let me know. I know I need tog et rid of those crappy hihats and 14" crash. This is not my full sert up I also have an aux. snare and a sabian AA china.

Does your double pedal not have a slave pedal, or am I missing something?

Looks great though. That's a beautiful finish.

The slace was not hooked up at the time its off to the side somewhere.

Pearl smx's are pretty siick. I played one at the drum store near me, and even with the stock heads it blew me away.

you might want to have the floor tom in a mirrored position to the snare. it seems a little far away.

getting the perfect takes time, but oh it is so worth it. keep at it, and your set looks great!

Just thought I'd mention that your kit is actually an SRX, not an SMX. No need to panic, the shells are the same as the current SMXs, and Vintage Fade is still available in current models. However the lugs are now slightly different, and so are the badges. In case you were wondering, the SRXs were discontinued at the end of 2003. Just thought I'd point that out in case you plan on ordering add on pieces from Pearl.
