Ok before i explain it, if you are from Australia or anywere around the world and know what the Drum Tao is and havnt seen it, please do not read on!

Following the phenomenal success and critical acclaim of their sold- out world tour in 2004-05, and sold out tours at the world renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival , Japans most celebrated and elite company of martial art drummers, TAO “the drummers of Japan” will visit Australia for the first time.

Powerful bodies, explosive percussion and timeless ritual dating back 1000 years combine in this spectacular production created by Japan’s most unrivalled drumming masters. TAO have honed to perfection a form of Japanese drumming to cross all cultures, to all people around the globe.

Fantastic, sublimely beautiful and often superhuman with training schedules consisting of 8 hours per day , an encounter with TAO is one you will want to repeat again and again.

“If you’re looking for inspiring drumming and infectious dance rhythms and athleticism of the highest creed, you’ll be disappointed. This is much, much more spectacular." The Guardian UK

“Exciting. Enthralling. A musical without words. An encounter with TAO will resonate into your soul." The Sun UK

‘Definitely the show of the Year, If you thought shoalin monks and stomp were world class, then Tao will take your your breath away” The Scotsman

I went to this, just tonight (4th of September) and it was outstanding, the Drum Tao are a 10 Japanese Drumming Group, who play traditional japanese drums (i think )

They mostly have drums that would compare to Tom's, Floor Tom's and Bass Drums, they have flutes and cymbals...

Here is a preview of the show:

Was anyone there, at Frankston tonight? or have you seen this show anywere else around the world?

I saw Kodo. I'm sure it's very similar, being Taiko and all.

Hahaha, Shoalin. *Xaolin. Like the cartoon ^-^

And yeah. Taiko is way cool. They have a taiko video game in most of the arcades, and that's a lotta fun.

And there's this group my mom saw, all girls, with weird cool crazy face paint and apparently they were freaking awesome.

And theres a bunch of small, nameless groups I've seen at various festivals an parades and such. Never once did they sound amature, though. Even when it was a bunch of middle school kids.

They don't **** around with taiko.
