ATTN: tribes 2'ers

i just bought tribes 2, (i know it's old, but stay with me here)

i was trying to get it work online, but it says my version is out of date (i have the sierra best seller series of it) and it says there is no updates, so i can't play it online, which is why i got the game, is there anywhere to get the update, or do i just go take the game back?

Some places offer it as a free download. Try them.
Really, all you need is the CD key.

okay, i found an upgrade on gamespot, i became a member just to download it, it said it'd update any version of tribes 2, then after waiting a while for it download (it was like 60 mb) i tried installing it, and it said it wasn't a valid file to upload, does anyone have a link they know works, because i don't want to be downloading different versions of this update all night, if no one has one, i guess i'll just do this though, oh well

I know that Tribes 1 is free, if you're willing to settle with it. And there are still people that play it.
