View Full Version : 'Messed Up' Films
ITT we discuss stuff like Cannibal Holocaust, Visitor Q, Faces of Death, Guinea Pig, etc.
I'll start, is Cannibal Holocaust real? The website scares me and makes it sound as if it was literally the footage of the dead filmmakers. I haven't seen it yet, though.

Umm the only real thing I think is where they kill animals.
happiness
great black comedy

Cannibal Holocaust isn't real. Though, they did have to have the actors on tv to prove it. It's like what happened with The Blair Witch Project.
Happiness is one of my favorite comedies. The pedophile dad was probably the funniest thing about it ("no, I'd just jerk off"). In all fairnes though, it's got nothing on Visitor Q. The lactation scenes alone in that thing out-weirds Happiness.

The Bad Lieutenant.
Watched that with my dad. Oh man that was awkward, especially the part where he pulls the two girls over.

High Tension was pretty ****ed up ~
Oh, and Cannibal Holocaust isn't real. When they took on the parts, they had to sign contracts forcing them to stay indoors for a while (Can't remember the proper date). They were only brought back into society when the director was accused of murder.
Check out Amatuer Porn Star Killer if you are into that kinda stuff though. It just looks such **** quality, as well as the direction that it feels real.
Fear and Loathing isn't ****ed up. Its not even anything new to me :p

fear and loathing is still a cool movie though...
anyone seen that footage of some lady with high heels on standing on the head of a puppy and killing it, with her high heels, that's probly the most ****ed up thing i've seen (although i usually try to avoid these type of things, i could barely stomach the puppy thing)

Sounds like crush fetish pr0n. i'd rather not go chasing it.

These are movies that left me feeling disturbed, through story, imagery and themes primarily not necessarily violent content. I would consider these messed up.
Oldboy
Natural Born Killers
Lies (Gojitmal)
Mulholland Drive
Blue Velvet
Lost Highway
Vampyros Lesbos
Perdita Durango
The Piano Teacher
City of God
Can't remember any others off the top of my head but i recommend these.

Most David Lynch films are messed up and minus Elephant Man they're all pretty bad as well. And although it's not that strange I've always considered Angel Heart to be a bit odd. Great film though.

Visitor Q was freakin hilarious!
I scarred my classmate's mind with that movie.
Me: "What'd you think of Visitor Q?"
Him: "..HEH.....those Japanese, they're ****in' weird, man...Thank you for mentally scarring my mind for life. Nothing I will ever see again for the rest of my life will ever match how ****ed up that movie is. I watched Saw 2 after that, and it just doesn't compare. I mean, Saw 2 was like ****in' Barney or some other PBS ****.

Inland Empire should be interesting when it comes out.

When I first saw Eraserhead I just felt annoyed. I don't mind weird films but I thought it was just awful. Weird for the sake of being weird.

Crash by David Cronenberg. Strange, thought-provoking wierdness.
I didn't enjoy the experience of watching the film but it did have something profound to say.

Trainspotting is an awsome movie. Can't beleive people thought it was 'glamarising' drugs. It was the exact opposite.
Anyway. Messed up joke:

yeah seen em both, not too bad. gummo is weird, but it is kind of enjoyable (at least i thought so). visitor q, as mentioned before, is definitely up there; and probably the piano wire scene in audition. the sounnd. oh goddd.
pointless fact: my avatar is cropped from a screenshot of gummo.

I definitely agree with that. I saw that film when I was about 14, and it did weird things to my brain. Plus it's one of the only movies where Jennifer Lopez has a somewhat decent role, and does a good job of it.
Add Audition and Ichi The Killer to the list too.

salo 120 days of sodom is messed up to the limit
Just watching Cannibal Holocaust, I don't know what's worse - that the actor actually killed a rat on camera, that a girl just got violently raped, or that the amazonian kid wasted a load of coke.
As much as I want to see the Mayan and Incan ruins, after this and the Jack Osbourne program I'm never going into the jungle, urghhhh.

I watched Salo last night.
It was no where near as graphic (sexually) as it could have been. I was expecting alot worse.
The ending was horrific though: the guy that got his nipples burnt off and the girl getting scalped :(
It's deffinatly thee most messed up film Ive seen.

Got myself a mighty list to get on dvd now.
Sounds like more of these things are practically snuff films?
