I'd like to see Peter Jackson do a version of Star Wars even though the originals are amazing.

He would make the ending to Return of the Jedi 2 hours.

They should stop doing remakes

Every new movie is either a remake, a sequel, or based off of a video game. Hollywood appears to be completely devoid of new ideas

Resident Evil. Movies were quite meh and had a lot of potential. Other than that, nothing.

themajority of movies are based off of books, actually, historically speaking.

i can't believe they're remaking The Wicker Man with Nicolas Cage. the previews look stupid, too.

i don't really think there's a good reason for any movie to be remade.

they should remake Plan 9.

Not just that, Terry Fitzgerald wasn't white in the comic. They could have more villians besides The Clown and Malbogia, and they should of had Sam and Twitch in there also.

Historically, yes. Recently, far too many are simply watered down or otherwised bastardized remakes

I believe that someone made a cartoon version of The Hobbit a ways back. I would like to see Peter Jackson have a go at it.

Isn't he supposed to be making it anyway?

The only thing different would be that the mother would be shot by 5 mobsters with automatic glocks, instead of one hunter.

god you have to realize that the incredibally long ending to Return of the King is actually the entire last 1/4 of the book. The ending IS quite long in the book, thus it translates into the movie, for which I'm happy for.

It's mostly a joke, but King Kong has proved my point when it comes to Jackson and the length of his endings.

Well, last I heard, the rights to The Hobbit were split between two major Hollywood studios, MGM and New Line Cinema. I also heard that the two studios were to split the profits (or something along those lines) and have Paul Andersson direct it (Alien Vs. Predator, Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat). Andy Serkis and Ian McKellan were also to return, but I have no idea what's going on with the project now. It's not comforting, for me at least, to know that Andersson is directing, after watching AVP and Mortal Kombat... so I hope that doesn't happen, and Jackson takes the reigns.

The Hobbit just wouldn't have that same atmosphere if it were under a different director, it will eventually get made.

And Scorsese could do Snow White.

But seriously, remakes are the last thing we need right now.

No idea. I liked the guy they actually used in the movie, just his lines and everything was executed so poorly.

I used to love Mortak Kombat when I was younger.

I take a look at it now, its like 'wtf was I thinking'

I agree with Peter J. as director.

I agree with remaking Doom, based of such an amazing game, the movie was decent if you disregard the corniness, the casting could have been much better, the story writing was decent, that could be a little different but mainly different director/cast

yeah, but I don't think moviegoers would have liked it.

Its almost an entirely new story within the story. The big bad guy is defeated, the ring destroyed, yaddy da, oh, look, here's an entire new dilemma our heroes have to deal with.

While it was a cool part of the book, I felt that the general public would have walked out of the theater at that point.
