View Full Version : Most respected bands on Sputnik

Some artists have made albums considered classics but are still being trashed. Artists such as Metallica, Nirvana etc. But there are some artists who very rarely get criticism and are like by almost anyone.
So I thought we could have a series of poll to determine the band/artist most people respect here at Sputnik. Basically each poll will contain a number of artist and you will vote for the one you least respect out of the bunch (or perhaps vote with multiple votes for all the ones you don't respect). Some will get cut until there is only one left. I saw this at another forum and thought it would be a cool idea.
Is this a good idea? If people think so, I'll make a thread where you can nominate artists. If not, I'll shut up.
:)

not at all. Pure, brutal energy from beginning to end. Probably the loudest band I've ever seen, and they were surprisingly tight.
I can't listen to "Academy Fight Song" anymore, because the live version makes the recorded version sound limp and pitiful.

I've seen people dislike elliott. Not on this forum though, on Rate Your Music there are a few people who think it's cool to rate his albums 0.5/5 and just call him an "emo fa'ggot with an acoustic guitar".

Ah, reasonable enough.
Well, I enjoy the Beach Boys, but I can only handle so many exceedingly harmonious and summery tunes at a time.
The only annoying thing about Bob Marley for me is, that as far as 90% of the population is concerned, no reggae exists outside his music. I mean being truthful, he is the biggest thing to ever happen to reggae, and I love his music, but he's not good enough to overlook an entire genre.

That, definitely. Industrial and Nine Inch Nails is a smaller genre, but the same sort of thing. Bob Marley's just too good though. Most people I know pretty much think that a few of his albums are pretty much all the reggae that they're ever going to listen to, so they don't even try getting into any other reggae. :(
Exactly. Nine Inch Nails overshadows perfectly good bands like Einsturzende Neubauten.
