...and I hope to find people that do. I want to transcribe this to piano and record as soon as possible, because it is more of a composition to me than anything else. You have to be into the whole dissonance and odd chord progressions thing though. I really am though, and every melodic, harmonic, rhythmic, and structural aspect of this song has been deliberated, so listen close and I honestly would recommend repeat listens to take everything in but only if it strikes you. Let me warn you though, the sonic texture of this song is like the most bland and tasteless of any song I've written. So try and bear through the lo-fi quality, the occasional off-synch, or random little errors like that. If you're into modern or post-modern composers that might help a bit.

I guess I don't like the style. It's obvious that you're really passionate about your music, and I respect that, but to me it still just sounds like cliche "post rock" noodling. I'm really tired of so many bands I hear doing this sort of stuff.

it was cool in some parts, but it sounded kind of dry. like it needed something. like maybe it could have been compressed into 30 seconds, and then continued from there into more directions. like it was a good start to a good song, but it wasn't the song itself.

Every small band I see play has at least one song like that. I guess it isn't a bad thing, if that's what you like. I don't mean to sound like an ***. It's just sort of like right now, typical bands either play dancey pop-punk if they want to be fun, or "post-rock" blandness if they want to be "artsy," and really special groups do neither. That's just my take. I may simply have an irrational distaste for anything that sounds relative to a trend.
Keep expressing yourself the way you see fit and ignore me.

I kinda agree with ya zappa. I think the time when people figured out you can make a cool song by strumming out 3 chords or playing 3 strings with effects was only going to last so long. Hopefully an appreciation for pop with more complex arrangments will emerge in the near future. But even so good stuff perri. :)

well dont worry about it cuz i knwo what you mean and the song doesnt really have any energy, like anywhere, at any point in the song. like the whole thing just kinda staggers along and i like it but i know the kind of thing youre talking about with bands just noodling around. also i dont think the song has any texture, at all, what so ever. and thats like a whole dimension of song writing, is creating a sonic texture for your song to support it as a whole, but theres nothing on that one.
here go to www.myspace.com/pkomusic and listen to the second one, cuz i think its a little more unique in style than this one so id be curious to see what you thought of that one. i still use minimalism but its applied differently so see what you think
i feel like im fishing for appraisal
im not
i promise.
i am casting lines in hopes of reeling in honest opinions and thoughtful critiques
so like dont be afraid to say that my music is bullshit if thats the impression you get when you listen to it, but ill only take you seriously if you tell me why. know what i mean? jelly bean? phillipine? guillotine? ok good
