Anyone else see this movie? I thought it was very good. All of the actors played their parts extremely well.

i was hoping it would semi-bomb in theaters so i could watch it on DVD in a relatively short amount of time. Its seems witty, but i dont think seeing it in a theater would add to the appeal of the movie

I saw it two nights ago and there was this old guy next to me who seemed to be having a lot of fun.

I really enjoyed it. I'd say Carell deserveds an Oscar nod for this. I especially enjoyed his character.

I laughed, I cried, best movie of '06 imo.

I really need to see this. I've been asking my dad to go but he insists we go with his girlfriend and her son, which basically means I'll have to watch it on DVD or ride my bike to the theatre. I love Carrel and I love most of the indie movies I've seen. I have high hopes.

What makes this movie different is that it just doesn't relie on jokes to be a good movie. The entire cast is really good and you actually care about the characters. It's more of a story about a family traveling to California with some very funny parts thrown in so it seems genuine instead of always waiting for the next joke. (Hard for me to explain but this is the best I could)

I know what you mean, but I think it's easier to understand if you see it.

It reminded me of why I prefer Steve Carell to 99% of other comic actors these days. Whereas guys like Will Ferrell and Jack Black seem to make a living being really goofy and jumping around and being over-the-top, Steve seems more reserved and more observational.

I liked the grandpa a lot too  "I'm in love with you, and it's not because of your brains or your personality!"

haha the grandpa was awesome "So kid, you gettin any? Ill tell you one thing, **** as many girls as possible"
Funniest part I thought was they had to push the van to get it going, especially when they forgot Olive and they had to pick her up without stopping

I saw that part in a preview I saw, funniest part is when they can't stop the VW or it will stall, made me chuckle. I'm going to go see it with some friends tomorrow, should be good.
