Here you can post about your band. Do not make a thread.

Please only use this thread to post mp3s and such, not to support some local band that you really like, or your friends band. Please only post if you have a website. No one really cares what your bands name is and what kindof music you play if we cannot hear it.

We're a 4-piece, run-of-the-mill, goth-hating, fastcore/powerviolence band. Two vocalists, 1 guitar, 1 drums. We self-released our own demo on tape, and we just finished recording our 9-song demo onto CD. We're getting a 15-track EP pressed to vinyl sometime this winter (hopefully). We pretty much started a powerviolence band in Upstate New York to play with actually good bands for free.

[EDIT] Oh, and we only have song-videos up. I'm way too lazy to upload actual songs or write our extensive, failed-attempt-at-being-funny lyrics. Maybe sometime in the near future? Maybe.

Oh, and i'm seriously looking for opinions. We've gotten the most mixed reviews ever. Maybe I can pool a decent punX opinion -- good/bad/or completely bashing. All welcome.

Some ace stuff. It's refreshing to hear a nice transition between blast beats/breakdowns. You guys kind of have an XBRAINIAX feel, I just think you guys play your breakdowns slower than XBRAINIAX, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I tend to enjoy the slower breakdowns in Powerviolence because they contrast the blast beat sound heavily. None-the-less, I dig lots. :thumb:

My band (myspace.com/thechineserockers -- the recordings on there of songs we don't play or aren't songs at all) is playing a show with F.O.D. (mentioned in at least two Dead Milkmen songs -- myspace.com/flagofdemocracy -- middle-aged men playing awesome hardcore since 1982) on June 30 at my friend's house in Pottstown, PA. Anyone here from the Philadelphia area, or PA in general should come and tell all of their friends. It'll be like $3.

I'm starting up a new punk band. Our unofficial name is Just a Thought... . (As in Just a Thought... is our name, with the ... included) We've been in existance for 3 weeks, and we're finishing up on our first song, "Corruption", which i'll put up the lyrics for once i get off my *** cuz i'm pretty tired right now. We have 3 difinite slots:

Vox: Grem (15, F)
Guitar: Evan (16)
Drums: Drew (me) (17)

We're looking around for a bassist and a 2nd guitarist.

Though we haven't recorded anything yet, i can describe our sound...
Imagine taking a bit of pop-punk like the Offspring and Rise Against, mixing in some tech punk like Refused and Underminded, and stirring in a big fat dose of stoner punk/stoner metal like Orange Goblin, the Melvins, Spazz, Life in a Burn Clinic, and Cojoba. And have it all sung by a 15 year old girl with an extremely trebely voice that's pretty good for screaming.

More info to come.
Double post?...

Since this thread was bumped, I might as well.....
Trying to put a band together, but I don't have a vocalist which apparently is hard to find around here because I've run out of ideas for places to advertise for it..... Regardless though, the three of us practice about once a week and the past couple weeks, we've recorded some things. I am aware the quality sucks. Partially because the equipment (if you wanna call it that) is outdated and we are recording in our aluminum walled storage unit.

But I would like some criticism pleeeaase.
http://myspace.com/thermonucleargetdown

a couple things I'm aware of before you post...
- I mess up a few times and so does the drummer, but they weren't so bad that they completely effed up the song and since this isn't final or anything, I decided it was okay for now.
- We haven't recorded the bass for MI4 yet, so as a result you will hear a very long silence a little over halfway through. Insert bass there.
- We have no friends :( I'm not going to tell anyone about it 'til we get vocals in.

So yeah just let me know how the songs were assuming we didn't fsck up. :)

Nerdcore753
10-27-2007, 02:36 AM

Kevin you don't even understand our vision. Have you ever plugged an acoustic guitar into a distortion box? Have you ever screamed back-country harmonies against the fascist government?

No but I've made a lot of bad jokes on the internet to know one when I see one.

What's up, Punk Forum people.

Here's my band, Capital H.

http://www.myspace.com/capitalaitch

Album is coming out in about a week, Generique Pop Musique.

Our stuff is influenced mostly by hardcore punk; the one song up there isn't really, just a fun and aggressive little ditty.

Watch for updates if you like us.

Song was pretty good, but if and when you mix it, the vocals should be turned down a bit. It was okay at the beginning, but I thought they were too loud starting at verse 2.

My 'band' may actually be coming together now. I played guitar and bass on the tracks on myspace, but it turns out I may be the vocalist now that I've found the other parts. But I still wrote the songs on here, so let me know what you think. Newest song is "Good Question".

That's kinda cool, at least the one song I listened to "swing high.." Pretty gnarly, brah.

I just listened to my own band's recordings and realize I don't really like them much "Crazy New One" is the only one I'd say is decent on the myspace. We need a way to capture the essence of practice in recordings, because that's way better.

Thanks brah.

As for your band, I actually liked "Bing Dang..." better, but "Crazy New One" is still solid.

Liebensaft

Bing Dang is one of the band's oldest songs, from back when I was not in the band and they still played punk rock. The "real" recording of that sounds pretty weird to me, but the live version is cool. There's just no bass in that one.

We put up some more songs. They show more where we're coming from musically, that first one was just kind of a throwaway song; something to have fun with.

Alright, well, I gotta bump this thread because I setup a site on last.fm for my band. They have this "artist royalties program" where bands get small amounts of money when people listen to their songs. I guess the more you spam your stuff, the better chance you have of actually making a buck. Well....I will post my link with my band's tunes, and promise to return the favor if anyone makes one for their band.

Las Cruces is changin' their name, ya'll.

Also, I think we're recording our first full-band record in March. After having just those acoustic songs up for years, it's gonna be weird to have our full Hüsker Dü meets Woody Guthrie meets Crazy Horse electric stuff recorded.
