I am in a band called Las Cruces. It's mainly just my outlet as a singer-songwriter, but I have a couple friends backing on bass and drums. I'll probably electrify it somewhere down the line, but right now we're just a rootsy folk band.

I have some early recordings, from earlier this year, on my myspace ( http://myspace.com/andrewthomas ), but they're pretty rough and the sound's changed a lot since then. Lyrically, the idea is to generally write songs that could have been written at any time in the past hundred years, though I do throw some politics in. Mostly I just really, really dig old folk, gospel, and rockabilly songs, so I try to recreate that, but with punk rock energy and attitude.

The end.

I am not a regular around here but I think I may start posting a bit more. I post in Hardcore/Emo quite a bit though. My band has been getting a lot of local attention lately, but our local scene sucks and is very small, so we are trying to get some attention via the internet.

Here is our websites:

The song we have posted were recorded before I joined the group, so you will only hear one guitar. They are also in very bad quality, but we will be recording an actual demo in a month or so, and I will probably post here again when that happens. Go ahead and add us on these sites and give us some feedback.

Btw, we have a big show tomorrow with Blame It On Rio, Daybreak Ends, and Allusion Coda. Blame It On Rio is a decently famous band who has opened for bands such as My Chemical Romance, and they are staying with us at our singer's house. We are pretty siked about that.

Heres my new band: http://www.organizedchaos.tk and our terrible mp3s are on www.myspace.com/organizedchaosbitch, the swear is b'itch, I'm too lazy to bypass the filter. We should have new mp3s up soon, the drums sound bad cause I couldn't hear the guitar at all, I'm not really that bad.

Well, me and my friend Ian (a.k.a. Fancy) just started a band a while ago. We've never been to serious about it until lately. We went through about 27 band names until we finally decided on "Astin." We even had a servay at our high school to see what name people liked best and Astin kicked *** in the poll. So.. the band: Fancy-lead guitar; Chase (me)- rhytm guitar; Matt- drums; Adam-bass. But along with those instruments... Me and Fancy combined can play 30 instuments combined. Ranging from manolin and balalaika to a moog or harpsicord. We've yet to record any songs but we have upwards of 20 writen. We are still lookin' for a vocalist to sing for us, but for now Fancy is lead singer and I am back up. Me and Fancy have had a few duet gigs for local people running for a position in the city counsil and at resturants and things like that. Once we find a singer that we are comfprtable with, Matt's dad will be recording some of our songs so we can attempt to get somewhere... but it's doubtfull if it will. We have talent just low expectations. :thumb:

If your school has a studio, record 3 tracks. Hand them out for free. Put on your own show with friends bands (hopefully they have a little bit of a fan base), but posters up, go into battle of the bands, pretty much just play where ever you can and give out cds.

Corporate Punishment is part IV of a IX part series which we hope to complete by December, and Punk Rock Cliché is a more typical punk rock tune until the outro.

Well, I do know I've posted this before, as some point in the past, but I don't care. I'm in a band called Subvert Citizens from Sacramento, CA. When we started, we had street punk and 80's hardcore influences, but now we've also mixed in thrash, crust, and grind influences to make a new, pretty unique sound. This is how our vocalist described us in an interview:

"[We're a] political punk/anarcho/old school thrash/crust band from Sacramento, CA. We actually don't really know what genre we are, lots say crust in the vein of Antischism, and lots say hardcore in the vein of DS-13 and Vitamin X, then throw lyrics of bands like Aus-rotten, BORN/DEAD, and Filth in a blender. Then you have us."

Sounds really awesome. I can never get enough ska. I need a good recording setup for my band. Anybody have any good suggestions on what kind of stuff to get?

check my band out:
www.purevolume.com/thekants

things are going well for us, we've already supported anti nowhere league and the vibrators.

We've been told we sound like young exploited/casualties/oi/street punk but decide for yourself

any feedback would be appreciated!

California or Canada? If CA, then we could probably include it in this summer's tour; if Canada, on the tour after that.

And, Culture Shock: I'm gonna be in the DC area myself in like June next year. Maybe we could meet up sometime.

I dono if this is a dead thread or not, since no one has posted on it with in 3 days im not 100% sure. But does anyone know of a good 7" distribution site. As in a site my band could record a 7" and produce it, sell it and all the other crap that goes along with it?

oi to that. we're gonna be playing shows and we'll have like 3 mics hooked up to our chairs. And we use a book on each to make the sound different. It needs to have a nice "ting".

wisconsin dells...it sucks. NO scene. The only shows are the ones we put on every few months. But we play on the road a lot, and have been getting a pretty good response.

But we play all over wisconsin, and can travel to other states
