From WMP
Rod Stewart may have began his career as a respected singer, yet that respect eroded as he got older, as he became more concerned with stardom than music. While he has recorded some terrible albums - and he would admit that freely - Stewart was once rock and roll's best interpretive singer, as well as an accomplished songwriter, creating a raw combination of folk, rock, blues, and country that sounded like no other folk-rock or country-rock

This sums it up better than I ever could.

I've been heavily into Rod Stewart lately. I think he's an amazing singer and has some kickass songs, like Maggie May. Also, Reason To Believe. I've been listening to a live version of that on my computer, it's a great love song.

Discuss your opinion on Rod The Mod here.

He's actually one of my favorite singers... however I don't like his later works.

Every Picture Tells A Story is one of my favorite albums ever.

Yeah some of his solo stuff pretty much ruled.

And then there was the '80s.

I really like his singing on Jeff Beck's Truth. His voice used to kind of annoy me but I've grown to like it a lot. Maggie May is a really good song too. I haven't heard anything else by him though. Or by the Faces. I think I might check out Every Picture Tells a Story.

Plus, I remember talking about him in the cr thread and someone mentioned how hot his wife is. And yeah, she's super hot. And probably younger than his daughter.

I've never listened to him beyond the songs I've heard on the radio but I have always loved his voice. I think it's incredible.

Every Picture Tells A Story is one of my favorite albums ever.
I'll have to check this out.

As a lead singer most of my life I have to admit when I hear him, which is, rarely if I can help it, I always think of the movie Trading Places featuring Eddie Murphy & Dan Aykroyd. I picture one music VP talking to another walking down the hall and making that $1 bet. Boy I wish I knew his or Bruce's agent.

He wrote a few great songs back in the day. The cover of his greatest hits album, with him in the pink satin pajamas, is timeless.
