Does anyone here have or ever used a 14" x 6.5" Pearl Steel Shell snare? Just wondering what they are like. This looks like an older one so I can't find out too much about it.

That's at least a 8 lug....


and as far as I know that snare is just a standard student snare, not crap, but not fabulous...

Thats an 8 lug like Combat said. I have that snare. Its pretty easy to tune and it sounds good, despite the fact that it is a cheap snare.

If you are looking into a second hand snare drum, wait about a week and check ebay every evening.

A bargain will soon show itself if you look often/hard enough.

Look out for a sensitone, those are worth the money and you can get them cheap second hand if you find the right one.

It's 50 bucks, and all I want it for is an aux. snare. Unless it turns out that it sounds better than my snare I have now, which it probably will. My snare now isn't that great.
