Technically great that was, but I dont see the point in drum solos like that. I cant dance to what he did, it doesnt move me in any way.

Elvin Jones is much better than is represented in that video. Even though I've never been a fan of his soloing but love his drumming overall, he plays much better solos that this one.

FYI. I happen to think some of Portnoys live solos (ie. Where he chugs away on double bass drums) are boring as well.
