In 2 weeks its my birthday and im so exited im gonna be rich for a 13 nearly 14 year old.

Right now i have around £100 building up. my mum owes me £29 so that £129 plus my paper round money for next week and other saving makes it around £150 i will be on then its my birthday so im gonna get around £100 in b day money (if your wondering why so much its because they just give me money instead of socks lol) so that around £250 maybe more if m lucky!

Im gonna spend all that on>>

1.Big dog f006 throne £75.99
2.Big dog pro double pedal £138.99
3.stick control not sure on price hopefully not to much
4.maybe new breed if not to expensive
5.some new sticks £7.50

That means ive got around £30-£40 left for shoes wich i need!

Comments appreciated and welcome. (please dont flame im excited and i needed to say something)

Also im having a new sony ericson w800i for my birthday present of family :naughty: :p :amaze:

The phrase buying cheap means buying twice keeps springing into my mind when i see or hear the name big dog. But meh, everyone ignore that comment.

Just a tip to you. Seeming your getting alot of cash upfront, or maybe cheques if you have a bank account, you might want to save some of it, say £50, just for "special occasions".

Anyway, enough with the tips and biased comments. I would say definatly buy stick control, even though i've never seen or looked at a copy of the book, and buy 2 or 3 pairs of sticks. I usually buy two pairs of VF 5A's, and then i might buy another pair to see what their like.

Perhaps you could show us a pic of your kit, and we might point out you might be buying the wrong/pointless stuff.

Just my 2 cents, don't take it to harshly

maniac0796
08-23-2006, 04:50 PM
250, the same as my 5 piece CB with pearl ride, paiste 1000 crash, and meteor hats with a bass pedal cost.

Then i got a £700 tama rockstar kit, when i was 13. And i brought all of it. That was 2 years hard saving.

Ohh my bro is getting that fone!

Listen to me, make sure you ask for discount and then MORE discount because its your birthday, all prices are negotiabal, and when your buying lots of bits (like you) you should get a few quid knocked off

I have the K750i. Should get that new 3.1 mp one! Whatever you buy, it'l go out of date within a few months and then they'l bring out a 4 meg phone :(

Anyways...

When I got money at your age I saved a little in a isa, and spent some. I was just starting to play drums then. You don't have to do what Maniac and me say, I think you know what were getting at. Shoes for 30-40 is a no no :p hehe, I hate buying shoes and stuff, get down to soccer sports (since your in uk) for the 70% and buy a pair for £15. Can't go wrong.

Do you?
This one chick in England had one, and it was pretty badass.
I was contemplating getting one, but I don't know now, I don't have any friends to call.

The thing with these singing all dancing phones now, if the camera bit breaks or the memory stick doesn't work, or even the thumbstick, you paid a hefty price for the bundle. Im a hypocrtye really, I prefer to buy things seperately. Like a 5-in-one scanner printer fax phone and blah.

 should have gone in stronghold really :D

For all those outside of the UK, 250 pounds is around $580CAD or $473USD. For 14 thats not bad, but Im 16 and Ive saved up around $6000 so far (Gotta get myself a car :D Drums are put in the background for now) However, dont cheap out just to get more stuff. Buy one professional level thing, and save up for the next.

That's what I've been having a go at. :( I need new DRUMS! But I've bought a car (Suzuki vitara) and then it's gotta be insured and taxed and blah. About 3 and a half thousand.

I'l still have enough for some shells. I'l have to get round to it later this year.

I'm very very lucky that my parents buy my shoes, actually when I visited the US recently (I live in Canada) I found $120 shoes for $35, however my parents did once pay $100 for shoes for me. I got a job when I was 14 last year, and I have about 1.5k in the bank, plus I've bought drums, (Yamaha Rydeen) on my own, $185 dollar badminton racquet, $450 iPod Nano with 3 yr warranty, and some other odds and ends. Sorry to break your balls there but you aren't quite rich, sorry.

Hope you enjoy your new stuff :thumb:

I've spent about 4.5k on my set so far and the shells are still astro's.

I've bought two mp3 players, a cell phone, shoes, clothes, LOTS of food, and weed. I have 9 dollars, a drumset, an mp3 player, a cell phone, clothes, and heartburn to show for it.

i feel your pain. apart from the random and occasional bouts of spending on the drumset, i've got to pay for my driving license, my hp bill, insurance, monthly cigerettes (:P), food. blew money on a pair of le coq sportif sneakers, an ipod video, hp, random tees, jeans, belts.

ugh. :smash: gr0g smash

Dude a pair of shoes that cost $30 in america or canada cost about £50 here.

I reckon you should save a little more for shoes and get some doc martins, you won't need any new shoes for 4 years if you shine them regularly.

Enjoy your new stuff, i'm enjoying mine.
Mmm new electro acoustic smell.
