First of all I'm a guitarist, so excuse any wonton stupidy.

My bassist really needs a new amp, to upgrade from his little cereal box practice amp so he can stop borrowing everybody elses. It would need to be loud enough for small, mediumish gigs, reliable, under £500 is pretty essential, and good for punk, through to sort of metal. Also a combo is preferrable.

Any recommendations? Thanks if any of you can help

Look into the GK400RB 2x10, should be good for punk but perhaps not so much for metal, what bass does he use?

An active ibanez... im sorry i cant be more descriptive. The punk is more important than the metal. Thanks for your help.

Well that sounds good enough for metal, I'm not good with amps, more suggestions will come.
Also look into the Ashdown MAG C410 T300 - or something like that - it's cheaper and is a 4x10.
