Get Loaded in the Park is literally days away now and on the verge of selling out for the 3rd year running, we thought we’d bring you the definitive “Guide to Getting Loaded on Clapham Common” in the form of one of those A-Z jobbies. hope you find it entertaining...

THE A-Z OF GET LOADED

A – is for Adamski - the legendary acid house dude who brought us ‘Killer’ with some bloke called Seal.

B – is for Bugged Out - this year’s dance tent hosts who’ve lined up Tiga, Green Velvet, Digitalism, JoJo De Freq, Serge Santiago & more… the swines!

C – is for (The) Cuban Brothers - our multi-tanned hosts will be getting jiggy on the main stage with their full band. Splendid

D – is for De La Soul – feel good summertime beats from the US hip-hop hippies… Me, Myself and erm, them!

E – is for Erol Alkan – the lord of the (indie) dance

F – is for Foolishly Good Music – courtesy of Sean Rowley and his Guilty Pleasures

G – is for Guillemots – the Mercury Nominated band are simply out of this world

H – is for Howard Marks – our legendary drug-smuggling friend. Check out his stand up show featuring unheard material from his forthcoming new book

I - is for I Love Clapham – such a pleasant part of the world, with great transport links and a rather dashing park too!

J – is for Justin Roberton – acid house good and proper

K – is for the Kids – Harpoon and Carpet that is. One likes guitars, the other likes Fisher Price toys… we like ‘em both

L – is for Laugh a Minute! Why, cos that’s what you’ll be doing when the Comedy Store crew get on the mic in the Guilty Pleasures Arena

M – is for Misty’s Big Adventure – worth the entrance fee alone, just to see the bloke running around on stage in that red & blue outfit. Class

N – is for Nearly There – last few tickets on sale from Ticketmaster (08700 601801)

O – is for Old Skool – the Hacienda Soundsystem (Bez, Graeme Park & Peter Hook) will be taking you way back in the day

P – is for Pete Doherty – who fronts the brilliant Babyshambles and who together have the honour of closing this year’s festival

Q – is for Quirkyness – meet one man band Son of Dave and human beat-box champion Killa Kela

R – is for Rock n’ Roll – ladies & gentleman we bring you Buzzcocks, Graham Coxon, Badly Drawn Boy and British Sea Power

S – is for Smile… cos that’s what you’ll be doing when lyrical genius Lily Allen hits the stage!

T – is for Tiga – the dandy electro prince. He’s also the coolest mutherfunker on the planet

U – is for (the) Underground – head for Clapham Common tube and you’ll be fine

V – is for Vitalic – rawkus techno from the electronic Frenchman. Oh La La

W – is for What Else? Well there’s a World Record attempt by the B-Boy Allstarz feat. Cico to break the record for ‘1990’s’; number of continuous spins on one hand (whilst the cheering Cuban Brothers egg them on by throwing £50 notes at them for every completed spin!!), Gormet food, market stalls, the Punk Dressing Up Box with The Laundrettas and more DJ action from the likes Adam Freeland, Goldie, Scratch Perverts & James Lavelle.

X – is for lots of (e)Xcellent new bands to check out: (in no particular other than this one) The Pipettes, The Chalets, The Boy Least Likely To, 65 Days of Static, Hot Club De Paris, Barefoot & Lethal Bizzle

Y – is for (the) Young Knives – one of our tips for the top. Unmissable main stage action
